A new Dark Phoenix movie poster is released by 20th Century Fox, announcing the arrival of the next trailer for the upcoming X-Men film. Disney is currently closing a deal to acquire Fox movie assets, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four film rights. But until that deal closes, Fox is continuing on with their planned release slate, including two 2019 X-Men movie installments: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants.

A follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix will see the return of all the main characters from the X-Men prequel series to adapt The Dark Phoenix Saga comic book story arc. The storyline was previously adapted in the original X-Men movie trilogy's concluding film, X-Men: The Last Stand, but after X-Men: Days of Future Past essentially rewrote the continuity of the franchise, filmmakers have a second chance to adapt The Dark Phoenix Saga. Now, longtime X-Men producer Simon Kinberg directs Dark Phoenix, which stars Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. The first teaser trailer for Dark Phoenix debuted in September 2018 and now it appears the next trailer will arrive very soon.

The Dark Phoenix trailer was rated recently, indicating it was coming soon, so we knew it was in the pipeline. Further, it was speculated that the trailer would premiere during the Wednesday, Feb. 27 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where Jessica Chastain is expected to join the host as a guest. Given the confirmation the Dark Phoenix trailer will arrive "tomorrow night," it's all the more likely Chastain will debut it during The Tonight Show, which kicks off at 11:35 pm ET. Chastain stars in Dark Phoenix as a villain who has a connection to Jean Grey.

Dark Phoenix has long been in production at Fox and its release date has been pushed back twice to allow for reshoots, which proved difficult to schedule due to the film's in-demand cast. However, the production and release delays have caused worry among X-Men fans, and they're no doubt eager to see more Dark Phoenix footage. Thankfully, the new movie trailer is imminent and will hopefully assuage fan concerns ahead of the film's release date this summer when fans will get to see Dark Phoenix for themselves.
