WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Daredevil #34!

She may be the newest Daredevil, but Elektra is one of Marvel Comics’ deadliest assassins and her new weapon proves she still packs quite the punch. Since Matt Murdock has been locked up, his former lover has been running around as Daredevil in his stead. She’s done an admirable job of keeping Hell’s Kitchen safe, but now that Bullseye is back on the streets with an army of clones, she’s in desperate need of an upgrade.

Luckily, that upgrade has come in the form of a pair of powerful new weapons designed by none other than the Invincible Iron Man. Daredevil #34 by Chip Zdarksy and Stefano Landini gives fans a first tease of just what these weapons can do. And if they’re anywhere near as deadly as Elektra, Bullseye is in for a world of hurt.

The “Lockdown” storyline continues to ramp up in Daredevil #34 as Elektra makes her move to finally face off with Bullseye, or Bullseyes, once and for all. Fully expecting not to return, the new Daredevil heads off to Times Square, setting herself up as bait for her murderous foe by projecting herself on each and every screen. Soon, Typhoid Mary, also on the hunt for Bullseye, makes an appearance to back her up. And when Bullseye finally shows up, Daredevil draws a pair of supercharged electricity-generated sai, recently upgraded by Tony Stark after Daredevil #33. Readying herself for the battle of her life, Elektra proves herself a drastically different Daredevil with this brand new weaponry.

Daredevil’s upgraded sai are interesting for a number of reasons. While Elektra doesn’t share Matt’s superpowered radar sense, these new weapons seemingly generate and discharge sound waves, which plays off of the abilities of her predecessor. Not only that, but they also appear to generate electricity, making them quite a bit more formidable than Daredevil’s standard dual billy clubs.

Daredevil may be a hero, but at her roots, Elektra Natchios is an assassin. While she’s been adhering to Matt’s no-killing policy during her time as Daredevil with her nonlethal sai, these new weapons prove she’s still a bit rougher than Murdock's foes are used to. Elektra is totally unafraid to bring some serious pain to her enemies, and thanks to Iron Man, that’s exactly what she’s going to do.

Elektra has done a pretty solid job of living up to the Daredevil mantle so far, but facing down an army of killer clones will be her toughest challenge yet - especially considering the fact that just one Bullseye successfully killed her years ago. Luckily, she’s now equipped with weapons even Matt Murdock never wielded. And based on her history as one of Marvel Comics' most dangerous killers, Elektra knows just how to use them.
