Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Daredevil #6The Punisher and Daredevil are notorious for facing off against one another, and they are both gearing up for their biggest battle yet.

The Punisher has recently taken on the role as leader of the ninja cult of assassins called the Hand. They have dubbed him the King of Killers and have pledged their allegiance to his cause of punishing criminality. At first, Frank Castle was against joining their ranks, but they swayed him to the position by resurrecting his dead wife Maria. As the Punisher grows closer to the Hand's twisted religion, he has inherited superhuman abilities as well.

In Daredevil #6 by Chip Zdarsky and Rafael de Latorre, the Man Without Fear has set his sights on taking the Hand down, which includes the Punisher as well. While Matt Murdock is believed to be dead in New York City, Daredevil begins implementing a plan to defeat the Hand once and for all. To accomplish this goal he has married Elektra in a ritual, which has allowed them to take control over an army called the Fist, which was organized to combat the Hand. Daredevil has also freed some supervillains from a supermax prison in order to add them to his ranks.

Chip Zdarsky Adds Fire To The Moral Battle In New Cover

The Punisher and Daredevil have clashed on numerous occasions, however they have yet to control entire armies while doing so. They have quite a bizarre relationship as neither of them view the other as a straight-up villain, yet their different approaches to heroics and morality often place them on a collision course. The fact that they are able to wield vast armies and ninjas only means that their battle will be the grandest ever. This is only heightened by the fact that the Punisher now has an array of super powers that will make it all the more difficult for Daredevil to counter him.

This time around, the barometer of morality is not so clear-cut. Because of his tendency to kill wantonly, the Punisher is often pitted as the villain during their fights. However, Daredevil is also known for making some questionable decisions in his crusade for the greater good. The fact that he attacked a prison and freed many villains has put him on the radar of the Avengers. Also, the Punisher is doing his best to curtail the Hand's evil deeds. So perhaps he is in the right during this round. To add further confusion, Daredevil writer Chip Zdarsky recently retweeted a post by fan CJ (@comicarcs) of a cover to Daredevil #8 with Punisher and Daredevil battling each other. The tweet also added a little caption to the cover that further complicates the morality side of this discussion. In the cover, Daredevil is labeled as "the indomitable human spirit" while attacking the Punisher, who is captioned as "the indifferent cruelty of the universe." Either way, it's sure to be an amazing fight when the Punisher and Daredevil inevitably do battle.
