Warning: This post contains SPOILERS for She-Hulk episode 5!

Daredevil is an even bigger deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than expected, as She-Hulk: Attorney At Law indicates he is as big as the Avengers. After years of not really being part of Marvel Studios' plans, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock has had an unexpected change in fortune. His cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home began his reintroduction to the MCU. She-Hulk is the next step in that equation, but there are already appearances in Echo and Daredevil: Born Again confirmed as well. It all comes as Marvel Studios finally listened to the growing calls from viewers to bring Charlie Cox back as Daredevil and his incredible popularity.

Even with Daredevil's popularity in the real world, his presence in the MCU was not considered quite as large. Instead of battling aliens or saving the universe, Daredevil's heroics were squarely street-level and about protecting New York. This is why Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said Daredevil would help lead this corner of the MCU with Spider-Man. Marvel has made this intention clear through Daredevil's multiple upcoming MCU appearances. However, it has always been thought that he is one of the lower-tiered superheroes in the MCU and nowhere near as famous or important as the Avengers.

It now seems that Daredevil is as big of a deal as the Avengers in the MCU. She-Hulk episode 5 partially focuses on Jennifer Walters meeting a secret fashion designer who helps make superhero suits. However, his clientele is so limited that Nikki has to lie about She-Hulk being an Avenger just to get a meeting with him. When the truth comes out that She-Hulk is not an Avenger, the designer becomes quite unhappy before finally agreeing to help her. This became an important piece of Daredevil's MCU story once She-Hulk episode 5 showed Daredevil's new helmet was created by the same designer. Since the show indicates that this designer only helps the biggest superheroes or Avengers, Marvel just explained how big Daredevil is in the MCU.

Is Daredevil Going To Join The MCU’s Avengers?

Daredevil's rising importance in the MCU could be part of his path to joining the Avengers. Marvel Studios has yet to reveal who will be on the team after Avengers: Endgame, but that has not stopped Phase 4 from introducing powerful characters to contend for a spot. It is expected that Captain Marvel, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, and She-Hulk will be part of the next lineup. Daredevil joining the MCU's Avengers team would make sense if he is meant to be a pillar of the street-level side. His continued interactions with other MCU characters and seemingly high notoriety also would lend credence to the idea that Daredevil will be on the team.

It will be fascinating to see if Marvel does put Daredevil on the next Avengers team. There is an argument that he is better off staying out of the superhero team-up, especially if he is meant to stay a street-level hero. However, Matt Murdock interacting with these other heroes would be fun, and his addition to the roster could have him fill the void left by Hawkeye or Black Widow to have "normal" people be part of the lineup. Whether he officially joins the new Avengers lineup, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is making it clear that Daredevil is a big deal and has a bright future.
