If Daredevil continues with a season 4, the show needs to do an entire episode as a one-shot action sequence. The clock continues to tick down for the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, set to hit theaters on December 17 and open the Multiverse with many Marvel villains. Rumors are swirling left and right for the Web-Slinger's next adventure, including possible appearances by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their versions of Peter Parker. They also aren't the only Marvel superheroes speculated to appear in No Way Home.

Charlie Cox is also heavily rumored to appear as Matt Murdock in No Way Home, which have only intensified in light of Kevin Feige confirming Cox as the MCU's Daredevil. Naturally, that's led to extensive chatter about when and where Cox's Daredevil might join the MCU, including a possible return for The Man Without Fear's own show. Of course, this is all just rumor and speculation, and will surely remain so until after No Way Home is released.

For his part, Cox has made the occasional comment about being interesting in returning as Daredevil, with plenty of support in that direction well ahead of Feige's comments. Aside from a No Way Home Matt Murdock appearance, should Daredevil be revived for another season, Daredevil season 4 would also need to bring its single-take hallway fights back. The best way to do that would be to turn an entire episode into one, in a true celebration of the show and its potential inclusion in the wider Marvel universe.

Daredevil Hallway Scene

Daredevil's calling card was the show's intricately staged one-shot hallway fight sequences, which both got longer and more elaborate through its three seasons. Season 3's one-shot fight, seen in the episode "Blindsided", took place in a prison and ran eleven minutes in length. With Daredevil having elevated its one-shot martial arts battles to that kind of longevity, the only real way to top it would be for an entire episode to be nothing but Matt dodging, punching, kicking, and evading enemies.

One-shot action scenes have become bigger than ever, and some movies are now masking cuts to present themselves as single-take films. 1917 is one of the best known examples, and Scott Adkins' One Shot arrived as an action movie like no other seen in 2021, due to the camerawork approach referenced in its title. Daredevil was a major player in kicking the popularity of one-shot fight scenes to new heights, and a whole episode captured in that format could be the perfect victory lap of the show's potential return.

One thing that could also make it even better would be to bring aboard Adkins himself as the episode's major antagonist. Adkins being well-versed in one-shot fight scenes and having a single-take action film to his name in One Shot would give Matt a challenge and a final enemy that he's never faced before in any of his previous hallway smackdowns. Audiences will have to remain patient to see if Charlie Cox's MCU return happens in Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as the rumored Maguire and Garfield appearances, but if that's where Matt Murdock is next seen and it ends up leading to Daredevil season 4, an action-packed one-shot episode is the next place to take The Man Without Fear.
