Vincent D'Onofrio announces he's done filming Daredevil season 3. When Marvel and Netflix launched their corner of the MCU in 2015, they did so by giving Matt Murdock a solo series. With Charlie Cox in the lead role, and a ground-level view at superheroes at the center, Daredevil became an instant hit. However, its success wasn't just due to its titular hero but also because of D'Onofrio's stellar performance as the main villain, Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.

His full season arc in the first 13 episodes instantly made him one of Marvel's best villains to ever be portrayed on screen - big or small. While he took a major backseat in the second season, Fisk is coming back for season 3... with vengeance. Production on Daredevil's latest adventure is winding down, bringing D'Onofrio's time on set to an end.

Vincent D'Onofrio confirmed on Twitter that he's officially wrapped on Daredevil season 3. He made the announcement by sharing an image of his fist, while also hyping up what the third season has in store. If D'Onofrio can recapture the same essence that he exuded in season 1, then his larger role alone can help deliver on the hype.

This marks the end of an extremely long shoot for D'Onofrio, further solidifying how big of a role he has in the new season. He first revealed that he started doing prep work for the new Daredevil season back in November, right after filming began. Marvel must have really cracked down on where they're filming as D'Onofrio was never spotted on set. While he wasn't shown, there were set photos that teased Fisk on trial for all his crimes.

D'Onofrio has only barely discussed what Daredevil season 3 has in store for Fisk, but he has said it will see him as an "evolving" character. Part of this evolution comes from an emotional story according to the actor. What exactly makes Fisk's next story so emotional remains to be seen. But, he has yet to be reconnected with his love, Vanessa, and a potential trial could further tarnish his name.

It's widely believed that the next season will see Fisk destroy every aspect of Matt Murdock's life just like the Born Again comic series. It also looks like Fisk will recruit some help, with Bullseye reportedly set to appear as well. If these two are working together to take down Murdock, then he's going to have a tough time once again after he is nursed back to full health. All of this should make for a compelling third season of Daredevil and, hopefully, another great run by D'Onofrio.
