Returning Cast For Daredevil Season 3
Daredevil Season 3 will naturally see the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, and he'll be joined by Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. The big news, however, is that Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin. After co-starring in Season 1, 2016's Season 2 saw him get a reduced arc as Frank Castle and Elektra became the focus. But his steps towards building up his empire from prison will transform as he goes on a very public trial that will thrust him back into the story.
New Cast for Daredevil Season 3
Joining the regulars will be a handful of new characters, most prominently Joanne Whalley as Sister Maggie. The Defenders ended with Matt in a convent, teasing an adaptation of the classic Born Again story by Frank Miller. In that comic, Sister Maggie is Matt's long-absent mother, and there's no reason to believe Daredevil will deviate from this. Wilson Bethel has also joined the cast as an FBI agent, with many theorizing he could be the vigilante Sin-Eater.
The Story of Daredevil So Far
Daredevil follows the Man Without Fear and his attempt to rid Hell's Kitchen of threats. Though it's not clear how much The Defenders will affect every Marvel/Netflix show, Daredevil Season 3 will require audiences to have knowledge of what befell Matt. Believed dead, his recovery in a convent should take up a big chunk of the story. When he returns, he'll likely have to deal with fallout from Foggy, who left Nelson & Murdock to work for Jeri Hogarth, and Karen, who now knows Matt is Daredevil. The evolution of Fisk into Kingpin will also come into play, building on his arc from the past two seasons.
New Season Story for Daredevil
Season 3 of Daredevil will not only continue the threads from the past two seasons and last year's The Defenders, but it will bring to life Frank Miller's Born Again. Much of that will feature Matt reconnecting with his mother, who left when he was a child and became a nun. We'll also likely see Fisk become a free man and integrate himself more in the business and criminal communities. Finally, the FBI will play a major role this season. Along with Wilson Bethel's character, multiple FBI agent roles have been cast for the new season. With more and more vigilantes in New York, it looks as if law enforcement are taking notice.
Daredevil Season 3 Doesn't Have A Premiere Date Yet
There's been no official word on when Daredevil Season 3 will premiere, but we know it will arrive this year. With Jessica Jones already out and Luke Cage coming in June, Daredevil likely won't be back before September (that's when Luke Cage Season 1 premiered) although it's more likely we'll see the show in November. The debut season of Jessica Jones and The Punisher previously came in those months, and it would provide a nice gap following Luke Cage's return. Marvel and Netflix usually wait until a few months out to announce return dates, so expect confirmation either way around San Diego Comic-Con this summer.
The Showrunner for Daredevil Season 3
A breakdown of who's written Daredevil season 3 won't be fully announced for awhile still, but we know Erik Oleson will be the new showrunner for the series. He's likely to write some episodes along with overseeing the rest of the season, where he'll be joined by story editor Tonya King and staff writer Sarah Streicher. The latter two are both credited for the full season, and they should be joined by individual episode writers.

No Directors for Daredevil Season 3 Are Confirmed
Marvel and Netflix haven't revealed the list of directors for Daredevil Season 3, but a full announcement along with episode titles and writers should come sometime this summer. For now, we know Marc Jobst will tackle episode one thanks to it shooting last year. He's directed Daredevil, The Punisher, Luke Cage, and even Runaways in the past, so his return is no surprise. There's also a chance past showrunners Drew Goddard and Steven S. DeKnight will come back, but nothing official has been revealed.
There is No Trailer for Daredevil Season 3
With so little information known about Daredevil Season 3 at this point, it's unlikely we'll get a trailer anytime soon. We've yet to see a full trailer for Luke Cage Season 2, though a teaser was released. Something similar will likely occur for Daredevil, which will reveal the release date. There's a chance it will follow the debut of Luke Cage in June, while it's doubtful it will arrive any later than San Diego Comic-Con in July. Following the teaser, a full trailer will probably come a month or two before the season drops based on prior Marvel/Netflix form.
There Isn't A Poster for Daredevil Season 3 (But There Is Some Cool Art)
There's no telling when the official poster for Daredevil Season 3 will arrive, though it could come with the release date or teaser announcement. Marvel doesn't really have a formula when it comes to how it disseminates marketing, but they probably won't start teasing the new season of Daredevil until Luke Cage is out. Luckily, Marvel CCO and artist Joe Quesada released some Daredevil season 3 teaser art recently, which should hold fans over as they await for the official poster.
