Daredevil Season 3 Images: Matt & Karen Reunite, Fisk Returns

Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Charlie Cox as Matt Mudrock in Daredevil

New Daredevil season 3 images tease the events of the upcoming outing on Netflix. Marvel's first Netflix original series returns next month for its junior season. Charlie Cox first starred as Daredevil in 2015's original run, but has since returned for season 2 and The Defenders. Matt Murdock is in a very different place for season 3, as all of the marketing has highlighted his darker mindset. This is understandable as he was nearly killed in Defenders and is still thought to be dead by the general public. But, once he returns to Hell's Kitchen, that is where the conflict emerges and season 3's story begins.

At the core of Matt's struggle is the current state of his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio). The new Daredevil season 3 trailer and synopsis teased what Fisk's release from prison will do to Daredevil. He'll have to navigate his return and how to deal with Fisk, all while the crime lord attempts to ruin Matt's life all on his own. As much as Matt may want to do this alone, previous photos showed his reunion with Foggy, and now he's back with another familiar face.

Netflix released a few new images from Daredevil season 3 that offer up fresh looks at the upcoming 13 episodes. One image reunites Matt and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), but it doesn't appear to be too friendly of an encounter. Another still further shows Matt in his original black costume, but this time with wraps around his fists and forearms as he looks ready for battle. Matt will eventually bring the battle to Fisk, and the last two photos show the villain in prison and then back on the streets.

Karen is well aware of Matt's extra curricular activities, but she may not be too thrilled to see him return to them after he was believed to have died. Matt and Karen's relationship has had its ups and downs through the previous two seasons, so even though she may not agree with what he's doing, she'll still probably help him out if possible. After all, she helped Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) quite a lot in The Punisher, so helping Daredevil take down Fisk isn't exactly something new.

The images of Fisk are the more exciting ones, just because fans have been waiting so long to see D'Onofrio return. His performance in season 1 set the bar high for all subsequent villains and arguably hasn't been topped. After just a brief role in season 2, it will be great to see Fisk back in full force in season 3 and truly become Kingpin. The white suit already helps set the stage for comic fans, while his apparent power in a room with FBI agents and maybe more government officials highlights him reclaiming his place in Hell's Kitchen. Thankfully it won't be too much longer before the new season arrives and we can see these scenes in motion and context.
