A new report claims that season 3 of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil will begin filming later this October. Since the creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, few of the Marvel TV titles have received quite the same level of hype and critical acclaim around them as the first two seasons of Daredevil did. After finally bringing a faithful version of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) to the screen, Daredevil went on to do the same thing with both Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/The Punisher and Elodie Yung's Elektra in its subsequent sophomore season.

Now, Cox is set to reprise his role as Daredevil again in Netflix's upcoming miniseries event, The Defenders, where he will be teaming up for the first time with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones). But fortunately, fans won't have to wait much longer after that before Daredevil returns for season 3 after the series was renewed again at San Diego Comic-Con in 2016.

But much to the confusion of fans, details regarding the story and production of Daredevil season 3 have been curiously lacking over the past few months. However, MCU Exchange is reporting that Daredevil season three will begin filming in New York sometime in the latter half of October, around the same time as Halloween. Whether or not that holiday will play into the setting or time frame of the new Daredevil season, though, is not yet known.

Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in The Defenders from Marvel and Netflix 2

It's not much of a surprise that Marvel and Netflix have held off on beginning shooting for Daredevil's third season so far this year. As it is, the two companies are already busy enough right now, with production on both Jessica Jones season 2 and Luke Cage season 2 having been underway for several months now. When taking into account some previous comments about Daredevil season 3, it was also somewhat expected that Marvel and Netflix were going to be premiering the new seasons of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones first.

At the same time, the new seasons of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist are all expected to be premiering over the next year, which means that production on the latter two would have to begin sometime within the next few months. Currently, not much is known about what to expect from the new seasons of any of those shows either, and very little likely will be until after The Defenders is released at the end of this week. There's no telling how that team-up event may change/alter the arcs of the main four Defenders - Matt Murdock included - and how exactly the next season of Daredevil does or does not pick up from where The Defenders leaves off, will have to wait to be seen.
