Daredevil Season 3 is Casting Another FBI Agent

Daredevil season 3 is adding another FBI agent character to the mix, with three casting calls total going out as production gets going.

Daredevil Best Comic Book Shows

As Daredevil season 3 prepares to start production, more casting calls have arrived for potential antagonists. With The Defenders finally uniting the heroes and villains of the Marvel/Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, future stories involving the characters will build on what happened during that team-up adventure. Daredevil, for instance, was presumed dead by the end of the miniseries, only for him to be shown waking up (quite alive) in a convent - a place where his long-lost mother, Maggie, may reside.

Based on this, it seems that Daredevil season 3 will adapt certain elements of the famous Born Again comic book story written by Frank Miller. While viewers who skipped The Defenders may be a little thrown off by Matt's current predicament, comic fans are eagerly anticipating the possible adaptation. It's not clear yet how much of the story from the comic will factor into the show, but it won't be the only arc our hero faces. Earlier this year, it was reported that Sin-Eater might be coming to Daredevil. If so, he will first appear as a ruthless FBI agent - and he only be alone, either.

THS have gotten ahold of a casting call for Daredevil season 3 that adds three more FBI agents into the mix. Two look to be supporting players, but one looks to be a recurring thorn in Matt's side, based on the following descriptions:

[AGENT BEN JEFFREYS] 38-45, male, please submit Middle Eastern, South Asian, Israeli, Pakistani. A second-generation American, Ben is deeply committed to both his career and his family. He’s intelligent, warm and generous by nature but when pushed too far suffers a crisis of conscious. SERIES REGULAR.

[GORDON] 35 - 40, male, open ethnicity, FBI agent...POSSIBLE RECUR.

[HIGASHI] 35, male, Japanese, FBI agent...POSSIBLE RECUR.

It's possible that these new agents will be working with 'Steve', the candidate for Sin-Eater. If that's the case, they could be the proverbial 'good cops' who take issue with their comrade's methods. With the FBI involved, it's hard to imagine Daredevil isn't being sought after. Then again, perhaps the feds are seeking someone more notorious.

It's been confirmed that Kingpin will return for Daredevil season 3, with Vincent D'Onofrio now actively preparing to reprise the role. After Fisk helped the Punisher escape jail in season 2, the plan was to use the ensuring chaos to climb the criminal ladder. Considering how easily Fisk got Frank Castle out of prison, it's not hard to imagine him becoming free himself. When he does, he'll find the criminal underworld in New York, and Hell's Kitchen in particular, has something of a power vacuum.

With Fisk and Daredevil both making their mark in the city, the FBI becoming involved isn't a surprise. When they do, life is sure to get harder for Daredevil. Each Marvel/Netflix show has proven that the hero never faces just one villain. Though fans are still hoping Bullseye will show up in Daredevil season 3, it looks as if Matt Murdock will have his hands as full as ever this season.
