Daredevil season 3 will have thirteen episodes. Marvel and Netflix started their universe with a solo series for the man without fear in 2015. The first season of Daredevil was a huge hit and quickly made getting a second season the priority, even over the first seasons of other Marvel shows. This was partially because Daredevil season 2 was used to set up the larger universe in a way. The spinoff potential and MCU crossovers aren't the focus of the third season, as the show wants to return to basics and put Daredevil (Charlie Cox) back at odds with Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio).

Netflix is in the final stages of hyping up Daredevil and will continue to do so this weekend at New York Comic Con. They released a brand new trailer to further generate excitement for the series, one that had a few major reveals and showed just how big the story is going. Thankfully, Netflix is giving Daredevil all the time it needs to tell this story.

A recent press release from Netflix confirms season 3 of Daredevil will have a full thirteen episode count. Both of the first two seasons of Daredevil had thirteen episodes, but now we officially know how many episodes the new season will feature. Thanks to the streaming service's binge-friendly rollout, fans of the series will be able to watch all episodes immediately when the show returns in two weeks.

Although this has been somewhat expected, Netflix and Marvel have switched up episode counts in the past. Netflix is the one who gets to decide how many episodes of content there is going to be for each show/season. After sticking with thirteen episodes for every main series, they moved down to eight episodes for The Defenders. That wasn't the only change they made though, as Iron Fist only received ten episodes after a first season that wasn't favorably received.

Now that we know for sure Daredevil season 3 has thirteen episodes, fans should not have to worry about the Daredevil vs Kingpin story wrapping up to quickly. There's already been plenty of buzz around the third season, so expectations are high at this point. They just confirmed that Wilson Bethel is playing Bullseye, as was previously theorized, so the larger picture for season three is really starting to take shape now. With the release date rapidly approaching and NYCC in full swing, more updates on the upcoming season could be in store. Hopefully they don't reveal all the surprises before Daredevil returns, but the episode count is a needed piece of information for those looking to plan accordingly and see the entire season as quick as possible.
