In this modern era of superhero movies and television shows, we have quite a few heroes represented on network television - but only one that currently airs exclusively on streaming media. The Netflix original series in question is Marvel's Daredevil, though the second installment in Marvel's Defenders Netflix lineup, Jessica Jones, arrives in under two months.

Fans will have to wait a bit longer for the highly-anticipated Daredevil season two, which hits Netflix in 2016 and will introduce another top Marvel character, The Punisher, into the mix.  In the meantime, Marvel/Netflix has released a new behind the scenes video that gives a peek inside the production of season one, to help tide everyone over for The Man Without Fear's return.

The video gives us a nice look into the production and an inside look at a few key scenes from the first season of Daredevil.  There are insightful interviews with cast members Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock),  Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Toby Leonard Moore (James Wesley), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), who all provide insights and perspectives into their characters and their takes on the series.

We also hear from some of the key crew members, like Loren Weeks (production designer), who describes the rich variety of sets and unique filming locations that bring the world of Hell's Kitchen to life. Michael Jortner (prop master) gives us insight on how they age everything used in the series, to give it a nice "Hell's Kitchen aging". The ins and outs of keeping continuity between the bruises and cuts in sync from episode to episode is explored by Josh Turi (prosthetics) and Sarit Klein (make up). The level of authentication was take so seriously in production that costume designer Stephanie Maslansky chose to construct Murdock's costumes from items he could have realistically purchased in army surplus stores and online. There is also talk about how the crew did their best to keep the show true to the comic book source material, with a similar tone and feel.

Daredevil season 1 behind the scenes clip

This Daredevil behind the scenes clip views like the type of extra one might see on a Blu-ray or DVD special features section.  There is no release date for Daredevil on DVD and Blu-ray, but Netflix has been good about releasing its other exclusive series, like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, in stores. We will likely get a release near the season two premiere date, which will take place sometime in 2016.

The second season of the Netflix series is being touted as "Daredevil V Punisher", with the introduction of Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) as the take-no-prisoners vigilante Punisher, a.k.a. Frank Castle. The two characters have a rich history together in the comic books, and the dark atmosphere of the Daredevil series should be a perfect fit for Punisher. Fans can also look forward to Elektra, portrayed by Elodie Yung.   The female assassin is another key character from Murdock's past that has been both ally and foe to Daredevil in the comics. There are also hints that Melvin Potter (Matt Gerald), the man who designed Daredevil's costume for him, may assume his role as the costumed Gladiator, too.
