The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Disney+ series will see Charlie Cox return as the crime-fighting lawyer Matt Murdock. Cox previously reprised his Marvel role in Spider-Man No Way Home where he was served as Peter Parker’s lawyer. The short cameo in the movie makes it the second appearance of a character from the Marvel Netflix TV shows, as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin appeared in Hawkeye shortly before it.

The return of Daredevil creates a whole plethora of new storylines possible within the MCU. Aside from his own show, Daredevil will be seen in other projects as well. In one of the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailers, Daredevil makes an appearance towards the very end in what seems to be his yellow and red comic book version suit. It is also known that Charlie Cox will play MCU's Daredevil in the upcoming Echo series and voice him in the animated Spider-Man Freshman Year TV series. Despite only having heightened human senses and not holding the power of an infinity stone or magic, Cox’s character will most likely play a large role in the future of the MCU.

With the multiverse fully underway and Phase 4 coming to a close, it is important for Marvel Studios to keep audience members grounded with the content they are releasing moving forward. As the MCU has grown it has forgotten its connection to more simple human heroes who do not possess cosmic or mystical powers and Daredevil can help fix this problem. Kevin Feige has described Daredevil as the face of street-level heroes, and this is a concept that the MCU should keep in mind. There are many unknown aspects to Marvel's Multiverse Saga that might be difficult to comprehend at times with so many different elements coming together. Having a character like Daredevil enter during the Multiverse Saga will help give the MCU franchise a strong everyman character (or at least as much of an everyman that the MCU can achieve) as the stories continue.

Why Daredevil Is A Great Addition To The Multiverse Saga

With his return, Daredevil becomes one of the very few street-level heroes in the MCU at this point in time. While Spider-Man and Kate Bishop are usually at the same level, there is yet to be an announcement on when they will return to screens. Heroes like Daredevil cater to audiences that enjoy storylines that have to do with local threats and more realistic plots. Although individuals such as the Scarlet Witch and Dr. Strange have incredible magical elements to their characters, sometimes it can be a bit more relatable to see a man fight justice as a lawyer and prowl the streets at night as a vigilante.

It is still not confirmed whether the new Daredevil: Born Again series will be a continuation of the one from Netflix or not, but the name suggests it may be leaning towards a new starting point for MCU's Matt Murdock. Nonetheless, Daredevil brings a darker vibe to the current MCU. Along with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the upcoming Deadpool 3, Daredevil: Born Again could give the MCU more strictly adult-focused content, as opposed to other projects that target kid-friendly audiences, such as Ms. Marvel. Ultimately, Daredevil: Born Again is not just a win for fans of the original show, but with its anticipated release during Phase 5 and the Multiverse Saga, the series can bolster one of the MCU's weaker elements while expanding to cover new ground.
