New Daredevil Hot Toys Figure Images Released

Netflix Daredevil Hot Toys Figure.

Marvel's Daredevil hit the Netflix streaming service in early 2015 and has already been a game-changer, not only for the quality barometer of Marvel Television, but also for the MCU. Fellow hero, Jessica Jones, and a second season of Daredevil have already continued the street-level legacy with exceptional results. With Luke Cage hitting this week and Iron Fist and The Defenders team-up series hitting in 2017, the MCU's New York is getting safer every day.

The Hong Kong-based company, Hot Toys, has made a name for itself as one of the finest purveyors of upscale collectibles on the market. The company's licenses cover a variety of properties - everything from Star Wars to the DCEU to Back to the Future. They also, of course, cover the many films from Marvel Studios. We've known for a few months now that Hot Toys had plans to commemorate the Netflix iteration of Daredevil in their premium sixth scale format. After an initial teaser announcement in July, an early prototype of the figure was spotted in the wild at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

Courtesy of Hot Toys, we now have a more detailed look at at the tiny, lifelike iteration of actor Charlie Cox in his second season Daredevil duds. The collectible is now available for pre-order via Hot Toys' U.S. distributor, Sideshow Collectibles for $229.99. Figures are expected to ship between July and September of 2017.

It's still uncertain whether or not Hot Toys plans on releasing other sixth scale characters from Daredevil or the related Netflix Defenders series. They previously showed off a Punisher prototype from their lower end "Artist Mixed" collectible line, so it's clear that they're gauging interest. Likely the deciding factor will be how well this Daredevil figure sells. Though Hot Toys has done excellent business with their Marvel Studios line of figures, it's still uncertain whether the Netflix heroes will have a more limited appeal in the realm of the niche toy enthusiast.

Daredevil season 1 & 2 and Jessica Jones season 1 are now available on Netflix. Luke Cage season 1 will arrive on September 30th, 2016. The Defenders and Iron Fist arrive in 2017. Release dates for Jessica Jones season 2, The Punisher and Daredevil season 3 have not yet been announced.
