Warning! Potential spoilers for Daredevil and Devil's Reign by Marvel Comics
Two Daredevils are better than one in a stunning new cosplay, showcasing both current heroes who currently use the moniker in the Marvel Universe. In an awesome team-up cosplay, @gothamgeekgirl and @domcharland sport the iconic red costumes of the original and newest Daredevil, with their recreations bringing the heroes to life as the Devil's Reign event is underway.
There are two Daredevils looking after Hell's Kitchen in the current Marvel Comics continuity. In Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto's ongoing Daredevil series, Matt Murdock (keeping his identity hidden under his mask) accidentally murdered a mobster and pleaded guilty to murder. As he did hard time, Elektra took up the mantle of Daredevil, protecting the city in his absence. Elektra's Daredevil has put aside her murderous tendencies and agreed to be a full-fledged hero in an effort to prove to Matt she's changed. After Murdock was released from prison, the Kingpin made his greatest play for power yet, as the current Devil's Reign event has him outlawing superheroes while unleashing his own team of villains to enforce his strict vigilante rules. Both Daredevils are teaming up with their fellow Marvel heroes to take down Wilson Fisk before it's too late.
On her Instagram page, Nadya Martinez (@gothamgeekgirl) shared her take on Elektra's Daredevil alongside Dom Charland's (@domcharland) original Matt Murdock Daredevil. The image, which was part of Midtown Comics' celebration of the Devil's Reign event launching at Marvel Comics, shows both comic-accurate heroes in full uniform. Naturally, Elektra wields her twin sai while Matt holds his batons. Both Daredevils look ready to take down the Kingpin.
Midtown Comics shared an image of Martinez's Daredevil in full costume with a mask as she gets in a battle stance alongside Matt Murdock and Luke Cage (cosplayed by Jason Phillips/@fitsmoneytime14). Martinez nailed Elektra's Daredevil costume, which is one of the best modern designs in recent Marvel Comics history. Checchetto made the newest Daredevil look badass, beautiful, and spectacular in action.
@mlargestudios shared a very meta image of the heroes reading Devil's Reign. Matt Murdock doesn't seem too impressed.
It seems Martinez, Charland, and Phillips had an absolute blast at the Midtown Comics celebration of Devil's Reign #1. Seeing both Daredevils get cosplays (alongside Luke Cage) is a lot of fun. Elektra's Daredevil has immediately become a fan-favorite among readers, so hopefully, more cosplays of Marvel's newest protector of Hell's Kitchen will continue to happen.
