Warning! Spoilers ahead for Daredevil #33

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Daredevil, Elektra Natchios is dealing with her own dark clone saga that has become the greatest threat she's ever had to face thus far as the new protector of Hell's Kitchen. There are now multiple and deadly clones of Bullseye who are wreaking havoc, putting all of New York under lockdown as they attempt to kill every citizen one by one. However, while Elektra seems to be in over her head, the new issue does tease that she may have found a way to tip the scales as this new clone saga continues.

In prior issues, it was revealed that New York's Mayor Wilson Fisk (the former Kingpin) wanted a Bullseye he could finally control who would obey his orders and commands without question. Having been taken to one of Fisk's secret underground labs, Bullseye was experimented on by a team of scientists who attempted to turn the deadly marksman into a new Winter Soldier. However, the idea of cloning Bullseye was presented as means to brainwash a new subject with a clean slate, though that backfired once one of the Bullseyes broke free, killing the scientists and freeing the other Bullseyes to begin their massive killing spree across the city. Now all of New York has been put under lockdown thanks to the dark actions of its own corrupt mayor.

While Elektra finally manages to track Bullseye down, she soon discovers the existence of his clones right before they all attack her. Now, Daredevil #33 from Chip Zdarksy and Marco Checchetto sees Elektra clearly outgunned and very much outnumbered, taking quite a few hits from the expert marksman who's now existing in triplicate. While she manages to scare them off by firing a gun without a silencer and is soon rescued by Spider-Man and Iron Man, it's evident that Elektra's going to need a change in strategy if she wants to take down the Bullseyes for good.

Clearly, the Bullseyes would like nothing more than to kill the new Daredevil, and the feeling's no doubt mutual given Elektra's long and dark history with the original assassin. Thankfully, Iron Man and some nanobots have helped Elektra heal from her wounds, and it's teased that Tony Stark may even build her some Iron Daredevil armor to help take the clones down in future issues. That being said, there is a concern that Elektra could tarnish the mantle of Daredevil if she does indeed chose to kill Bullseye and his clones.

In any case, it's going to be really interesting to see where Zdarsky and Checchetto take Daredevil next. While Elektra may have her hands full with Bullseye, the original (and incarcerated) Daredevil has taken over the prison, making a surprising return to his darkest self. As a result, it looks as though both Daredevils are in for a wild ride in the next few issues, though it seems the new clone saga for Elektra's Daredevil will soon test her very limits as a hero as the battle continues.
