Warning: This post contains SPOILERS for She-Hulk episode 8!

Daredevil has a very different costume in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law than in the Netflix show, as Marvel Studios gave Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock a fresh design. Audiences waited for the majority of She-Hulk season 1 to finally see Daredevil return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Spider-Man: No Way Home's cameo. The more light-hearted version of Daredevil shows how Marvel Studios has subtly changed the character for the MCU. She-Hulk previously teased that a big difference would come with Daredevil's costume, and his role in episode 8 clearly shows the new superhero suit Charlie Cox wears.

Marvel Studios might be using Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, but She-Hulk's different Daredevil costume shows how the MCU is soft-rebooting the character. Cox played the superhero lawyer for three seasons of Daredevil on Netflix, and the canonicity of the show has been drawn back into question ever since he returned. The Daredevil MCU costume featured in She-Hulk episode 8 does have many similarities in the overall design to the suit featured in the Netflix series. But instead of keeping the red and black design or bringing back Daredevil's homemade black suit, the MCU used She-Hulk to introduce a new costume. The similarities to what came before are enough for audiences to latch onto while still giving Marvel Studios a chance to avoid directly answering the Netflix MCU canon questions and give Daredevil a clean start.

Every Change To Daredevil's Costume In She-Hulk

Charlie Cox as Daredevil in She-Hulk Attorney at Law

Looking at Daredevil's costume in She-Hulk, the differences to the Netflix suit are pretty significant but also minor. The costume's overall design, the helmet's look, and more are directly pulled from Daredevil and what Charlie Cox wore before. Audiences will notice that the suit is now red and yellow instead of red and black. The color switch is a callback to the comics where Daredevil wears a black and yellow costume for some time. This is the most significant and noticeable change to Daredevil's costume in She-Hulk, but superhero suit designer Luke Jacobson also included some other subtle differences.

Whereas Daredevil's previous costumes were made by Melvin Potter, working with a superhero suit specialist like Luke Jacobson means Daredevil's She-Hulk suit is slightly simplified in its design. The black accent pieces on the chest have been removed as part of the new paint job. Daredevil's gloves are no longer accompanied by the armored gauntlets that Matt Murdock wore before, leaving his arms more prone to injury. Besides these small changes, Daredevil's costume differences in She-Hulk and the MCU are minimal.

Will Daredevil Get His Main Comic Accurate Suit In Born Again?

The MCU might have only just introduced a new suit for Daredevil in She-Hulk, but it is unclear if this will be his primary costume going forward or if Daredevil: Born Again could introduce a new one. Charlie Cox has yet to wear a suit that directly resembles Daredevil's main red comic accurate suit. The actor has previously expressed his hope to wear the comic accurate suit - with the DD logo - now that he's returned. Daredevil's new MCU show is a natural place for the new costume to be introduced and differentiate his look from She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. The yellow and red suit could remain until that transformation happens, but an all-red Daredevil costume should be in Charlie Cox's MCU future.
