Charlie Cox reveals that he has yet to read any scripts for Daredevil: Born Again despite the Marvel Disney+ series entering production very soon. Netflix's beloved Marvel series Daredevil enjoyed a three-season run before it was canceled in 2018, a decision that sparked major uproar among fans. The series introduced Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, an attorney-at-law who moonlights as a masked vigilante named Daredevil. The audience's affection for Cox's hero did not go unnoticed by Marvel Studios, however, and they have since begun to integrate Cox's Daredevil into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Cox's MCU future looks all the brighter following confirmation that Daredevil will receive his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to release in early 2024. During a recent interview with NME, Cox reveals that he has yet to read any scripts for the series, despite production beginning soon. The series will officially begin filming in February next year and will shoot all the way through to December, though at this stage Cox has confirmed that he has almost no idea what to expect.

How Will Daredevil: Born Again Connect To The MCU?

Charlie Cox as Daredevil standing on roof in She-Hulk Attorney at Law

Daredevil's introduction into the MCU began with last year's Spider-Man: No Way Home before he appeared most recently in Disney+'s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. From there, Daredevil: Born Again is set to expand upon his story and establish him as his own standalone hero. With each of Disney+'s Marvel series running adjacent to the studio's theatrical releases, it's likely that Daredevil: Born Again will feature a handful of tie-ins to the wider MCU, with many expecting the 18-episode series to establish him as a key player in the MCU going forward.

Prior to Daredevil: Born Again, Cox is set to appear in the upcoming MCU series Echo, which is slated to release in late 2023. Audiences are anticipating Echo to reunite Cox and his fellow Daredevil co-star Vincent D'Onofrio, who made his very own MCU debut as Kingpin in last year's Hawkeye. Aside from these more obvious connections, Daredevil: Born Again's New York location could also open up the door to some potentially unexpected links, given that a number of the MCU's existing heroes reside there. For now, just how Daredevil: Born Again's story will propel Cox's character through Phase 5 and beyond remains to be seen.

When it comes to Marvel stars, there is an extreme level of secrecy that must be maintained for upcoming projects. Therefore, some are likely to doubt Cox is being entirely truthful regarding the Daredevil: Born Again scripts. Daredevil's formal introduction into the MCU has served as a particular point of contention among Marvel fans, who are anxious to see the character make the leap over from Netflix to the somewhat more family-friendly Disney+. Therefore, it's likely that Marvel is keen to get Daredevil: Born Again right in the hopes of satisfying those who have rallied for Cox's return over the years. If Cox truly hasn't received any scripts from Marvel, it's likely he will do so soon as production on Daredevil: Born Again now looms on the horizon.
