Ahead of his appearance in Disney+’s Echo, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil gets a new black suit in a fan poster for the series. Before Marvel Studios began expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+, Marvel’s street-level heroes defended the small screen on ABC, Hulu, Netflix, and Freeform. In 2018, shows including Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Daredevil were canceled, leaving fans to wonder if they’d ever see characters like Matt Murdock or Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) in the larger MCU.

But last year Daredevil and Kingpin made their official MCU debuts in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Disney+’s Hawkeye, respectively. Where the former saw Cox cameo as Peter Parker’s legal counsel, D’Onofrio reprised his role in the final two episodes of Hawkeye—which revealed the Tracksuit Mafia and Maya Lopez/Echo (Alaqua Cox) were working for Kingpin. The finale saw Maya shoot the crime boss (off-screen) for his role in her father’s death, leaving Kingpin’s fate unknown. Now, Cox and D’Onofrio are officially set to appear in Disney+’s Echo spinoff before Daredevil season 4.

Digital artist Agt Design recently posted some art to Instagram that serves as a poster for Echo season 1. The piece features its titular character, Kingpin, and Daredevil, but with a new suit reminiscent of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen’s all-black look in Shadowland. Check it out below.

The most traditional look for Daredevil’s costume is the classic red. However, the comic crossover event Shadowland saw the character become the leader of The Hand and adopt an all-black costume with red "D" highlights that reflected his darker turn—a look that proved one of his most popular. Following his original makeshift black outfit, Cox’s costume in Daredevil was mostly red with patches of black. Rumors suggest that Echo will see Cox wear a suit similar to the one he sported in his original series as he searches for Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), which bodes well for the rest of the Defenders' future in the MCU.

It’ll be interesting to see what Marvel Studios will do with Cox’s character. In Hawkeye, D’Onofrio sported a comic book accurate look and was granted an apparent power-up, which many fans took issue with considering Daredevil’s more grounded approach to the character. However, D’Onofrio has maintained Kingpin is the same character in both series. That said, Daredevil’s MCU costume will likely be familiar enough to fans while still feeling fresh. Even if his look is exactly the same in Echo, Disney+’s in-development Daredevil series could always decide to embrace an all-black suit like the one depicted above.
