Fans can expect lots of drama from the upcoming TLC show, Darcey & Stacey. TLC gave viewers a sneak peek with a new trailer.
Darcey Silva’s original claim to fame was her journey in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Fans were highly entertained by Darcey’s failed relationship with Jesse Meester. The pairing was toxic and doomed from the start, but the couple managed to stay together for two full seasons before splitting. Darcey’s next relationship with Tom Brooks was also featured on the show and that too ended in a shambles. Tom’s disrespectful actions towards Darcey caused her legions of supporters to rally behind her and sympathize with her trail of broken relationships. From the looks of it, these patterns may play out in the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé spin-off.
Entertainment Tonight released the trailer via YouTube on July 21. Darcey and Stacey are first shown examining what looks like Stacey’s wedding dress. Darcey rather curtly says the ballroom-style dress looks like an astronaut suit. The trailer then features some sisterly antics and their individual interactions with their respective beaus. There are many tense moments with Darcey and Stacey over Stacey’s relationship with fiance, Florian. Towards the end, Darcey Facetimes a woman Florian was seen cuddling up to, who hints that she and Stacey's fiancé are more than friends. The trailer also features Darcey getting up close and personal with her Bulgarian boyfriend, Georgi Rusev.
From the looks of it, the new show will be filled to the brim with drama. Any questions fans have about the romantic affairs of the sisters will likely be answered. Additionally, because Darcey and Stacey have more control over this reality TV spin-off, they’ll be able to shape the narrative being shown about their relationships. The show will also feature the friends and family of the sisters as a support system. Hopefully, this will serve as a check and balance to whatever toxic and manipulative behaviors their foreign boyfriends might throw their way.
For those who were looking for an up-close look at the sisters’ businesses, you may be disappointed. It’s possible the wedding dress Darcey insulted at the start of the trailer may be a sample from Darcey & Stacey’s wedding dress business, but it’s unlikely Darcey would let a dress she finds that atrocious come to fruition. It's more probable that the wedding dress scene was planned to kick start the sisters' drama and attract more viewers. Although the business aspects of the show may be lacking, petty reality TV siblings and cheating boyfriends will undoubtedly pack more than enough scandal into the series for audiences to enjoy. The trailer may have given little away, but one thing is for certain: the first season of Darcey & Stacey will be quite the ride.
