Darcey Silva of Darcey & Stacey has had her fair share of relationship drama on her journey to find long-lasting love. But fans may be surprised to learn that the hopeless romantic actually received a marriage proposal from her ex-boyfriend, Tom Brooks, while they were dating...and she turned it down.

Silva's relationship with Brooks was featured on season four of the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff Before the 90 Days. The pair started off as platonic friends after meeting through Facebook, and Brooks supported Silva through her split from emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend Jesse Meester, with whom she appeared on season two of Before the 90 Days. When her friendship with Brooks turned romantic, Silva jetted off to London to meet her British beau, spending some time together in the UK before traveling to Albania to visit her twin sister Stacey and Stacey's fiancé Florian Sukaj.

In a new interview with ET, the 45-year-old Silva twins revealed that Brooks proposed to Darcey during their trip to Albania. The proposal, which was never shown on camera, occurred in Silva and Brooks' hotel room following an explosive fight in a bar during which Silva accused Brooks of not truly being in love with her. However, Silva did not trust Brooks' proposal, due to the fact that Brooks had been drinking. "I didn't believe what he was saying," Silva confessed. "It was just one of his spiels, is what it felt like." Silva's suspicions were confirmed when the pair returned to the UK and Brooks gifted Silva with a key to his house rather than the engagement ring Silva was expecting.

After Silva returned to her hometown of Middletown, Connecticut, her relationship with Brooks soured due to distance and communication issues. After finding photos of him with another woman, Silva met with Brooks in New York City where the couple ended things for good. Brooks confirmed that he had moved on with a new relationship and told Silva that he loved her like a sister rather than as a romantic partner. The split turned nasty, with Brooks snarkily asking Silva if she had gained weight and flirting with fellow Before the 90 Days star Avery Warner on Instagram. Eventually, Silva blocked Brooks' number.

Since her breakup with Brooks, Silva has since moved on with Bulgarian masseuse Georgi Rusev, whom she quarantined with during the coronavirus pandemic. Stacey's tumultuous relationship with fiancé Florian, as well as Darcey's budding relationship with Georgi, are both featured on the currently-airing debut season of Darcey & Stacey.
