Chris Mazdzer is known as the first American athlete to win a medal in the Men's Single Luge event, as he received a silver medal in the 2018 Winter Olympics. He's also known for being a contestant on season 26 of Dancing With The Stars, which ended up being the shortest season ever with only four weeks of competition.

Chris was born in Massachusetts, but his family later moved to the Adirondack area of upstate New York, not far from Lake Placid. Like a lot of other professional athletes, Chris missed a lot of regular school, and relied on homeschooling to get him through. He also received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance online through DeVry University. Mazdzer ultimately plans to help clients such as athletes and executives achieve their goals as their financial consultant.

Chris tends to keep his private life under wraps to the point where there's evidence of only one long-term relationship. According to People, he proposed to girlfriend Mara Marian on her birthday in October 2019. He & Mara, who was born in Romania, exchanged vows in May in Salt Lake City, Utah. Even though he brought home the silver medal in the Winter 2018 Olympics, he’s now super focused on competing and winning in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Because Chris was on an abbreviated Dancing With The Stars season, the public only got to see him dance a few times, with the Fox Trot being the most special. His dancing partner was Witney Carson and they placed 4th/5th/6th overall, but the Fox Trot was special because he dedicated the dance to his mom as a Mother’s Day gift. At the end of the dance, his mom even joined the two dancers on the stage. It's always good to have a man that treats his mom with a lot of dignity and respect.

So what's next for this Olympian? He definitely is staying super focused on working out and staying fit for the 2022 Olympics. Chris feels this will be his last year he'll be able to participate as an athlete. He's got his eyes on that gold medal, but in the meantime he'll continued to enjoy his life as a newlywed.

Could Mara and Chris have children on their mind in the near future? Likely not, as they want to spend as much time together one-on-one before adding to their family. Being a Cancer man, Chris will be passionately focused on his family and be very involved in the lives of his children. As a Cancer man, he also holds family values close to his heart, so he'll likely do anything to provide for his family.
