Dancing With The Stars alum Aaron Carter allegedly never wrote a will before his sudden death. Aaron gained popularity as a kid star in the late 90s with songs like, "I Want Candy," "Aaron's Party," and "That's How I Beat Shaq." He was also well-recognized for being Nick Carter's younger brother, a member of the Backstreet Boys.

A report from Page Six said that before the former DWTS contestant's death, he was advised by his attorney to write his will, given the birth of his only child and son, Prince. As a result of the domestic conflict between Aaron and his on-again, off-again fiancé, Melanie Martin, Prince has not been under the custody of his parents. 11-month-old Prince was taken from the pair and has been residing with Melanie's mother since September. Even though the "I Want Candy" singer may not have left a will tying any of his assets to his son's name, there may still be hope for the young boy. Prince would probably inherit his father's estate under California succession laws, since DWTS alum Aaron had no will and was single at the time of his death.

DWTS Alum Aaron Carter Had A Controversial Memoir

DWTS Pro Karina Smirnoff and Aaron Carter

Aaron was discovered at his California home on Saturday, at age 34, and was found unresponsive in his bathtub on Saturday, November 5, according to multiple reports. At the moment, there is still no known official cause of death for Aaron since a coroner's report and an autopsy has not been released yet. Along with the stories about the professional dancer's son and his will, there are also reports that Aaron attempted to prevent the publication of his controversial memoir before his passing. Aaron's representative stated that the DWTS alum instructed the publisher of his memoir not to release the book. The rep explained that the publisher's assertion that the book had been approved was false and went against Aaron's intentions. A passage from Aaron Carter's "unauthorized" autobiography, Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life, claimed that Aaron had spent one night at Michael Jackson's home and had seen the singer wearing "tighty-whitey underwear."

Aside from the estate he owned, Aaron reportedly had a poor financial situation before his death. He allegedly spent the little money he had rapidly and was living from hand to mouth. However, his estate was listed for sale before he passed away, so any equity from the sale may belong to his son. It's not too surprising that because of his young age, Aaron did not have a will in place. However, it does complicate matters for his son. Still, because Prince is in the care of his maternal grandmother, he hopefully has people around him who will have his best interest in mind.

The former DWTS contestant struggled with alcohol and addiction, but towards the end of his life, he put a lot of effort into being sober. Being a decent father and making amends with his family were Aaron's main motivations for recovering and maintaining stability. Sadly, he passed away too soon to achieve all of his wonderful plans. However, in honor of the musician, Dancing With The Stars fans can only hope that his family would make sure to show his only son the love and care that Aaron so desperately wanted to offer.
