Dancing With the Stars is set to return for it's 30th season this upcoming fall. While many of the details surrounding the new season such as a premiere date and cast remain unknown, there are some things fans can in fact expect to see in the ballroom come the fall. The previous season of the dancing competition, which took place last fall, was quite different than that of the past due to the Covid-19 restrictions that were in place. It was the first time the show did not have a live audience. On top of that, head judge Len Goodman was not able to fly from London to the United States in order to judge the season.

In his place, Derek Hough returned to the ballroom as a fill-in judge. Now, Derek will continue on as being a judge on the show despite considering returning to dancing. Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli will be returning to sit alongside Derek on the judges panel. Len Goodman is also set to return to the show as well now that travel advisories have been adjusted. This means there will be four judges on the panel this season.

Another big change brought into the ballroom last season was the removal of longtime host Tom Bergeron as well as his co-host Erin Andrews. The details surrounding their departure from the show remain quite vague; however, they will not be returning to the show for season 30. Fans did in fact get excited when Tom hinted at returning to hosting on Twitter recently. Many thought he was teasing a potential return to Dancing With the Stars; he later shut down those rumors. Tom explained, "I am returning to hosting. That’s the part I hope doesn’t disappoint some of you. But it’s not going to be a show I previously hosted, however, it’s very reminiscent of a show I previously hosted." It is assumed that Tyra Banks, who was brought on to host season 29, will be returning as the show's host.

As for which celebrities will take on the ballroom during season 30, fans are still left wondering. Typically, the show returns sometime in September; therefore, the cast is usually revealed about a month prior to the first episode. Throughout the past 29 seasons of the show, each cast has consisted of a combination of athletes, actors, singers, reality stars and, in recent years, even some social media influencers. The list of returning pros is also unknown; however, Lindsay Arnold, who was not apart of season 29 due to her first pregnancy, is hoping she is asked to return to show for the milestone season. Similar to Lindsay, Whitney Carson also took the previous season off due to being pregnant as well.

As previously mentioned, a premiere date for the 30th season of Dancing With the Stars has yet to be announced. The pro dancers, panel of judges and a new cast of stars should be headed to the ballroom sometime in September. It is also unknown if the show will bring back a live audience as Covid-19 restrictions continue to change.
