Cody Rigsby admitted that his low scores for his virtual Dancing With The Stars performance Monday night "hurt a little bit." Monday night was Britney night on the show. All of the remaining couples performed dances to songs by pop singer Britney Spears. At the end of the night, a second couple was eliminated from the competition.

For the first time in the history of the show, Cody performed his dance solo at home. Prior to last week's live show, Cody's dancing partner Cheryl Burke announced she tested positive for COVID-19. Because of this, their performance consisted of one of their rehearsals that had been filmed prior to her diagnosis. Then, just days after surviving elimination, Cody tested positive as well. In order to stay in the competition, Cody and Cheryl performed their dance this week not only virtually but individually while quarantining inside their individual homes.

Although Cody and Cheryl have been doing whatever it takes to remain in the dancing competition, the judges have not taken it easy on them. In an interview with Page Six following Monday's live show, Cody admitted that the judges' low scores "hurt a little bit;" however, he is happy to have had the opportunity to still perform. Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli each gave the couple a score of 6. Derek Hough was missing from the judges panel Monday night due to a COVID-19 exposure. In the same interview, Cheryl said, "I could have accepted the 6s if they could have at least acknowledged what was being done here."

Cheryl and Cody virtual performance

Cheryl continued on to note how this was the first time this has ever been done in the history of the show. Not only did she and Cody have to perform individually inside their homes, they were also in charge of all aspects that typically go into the show. Cheryl explained, "I did my own hair and makeup. We were also like the set designer, the lighting people, the sound." She then praised Cody for how fast he managed to learn the choreography despite only having virtual rehearsals. Although he did not struggle to learn the routine, the Peloton instructor turned influencer found it difficult to "'make it feel' like they were actually dancing together."

There is no doubt Cody and Cheryl have had possibly the biggest challenges thrown their way in the history of the show; however, they have managed to push through these obstacles. Both Cody and Cheryl are hoping to make a return to the ballroom for next week's Disney night; however, their return has yet to be confirmed.
