To start the weekend off on the right foot, Tom Bergeron and Sharna Burgess enjoyed a hike together in LA. This is the first time the two Dancing With the Stars cast members have spent time together since Bergeron’s exit from the reality series.
The last time Tom Bergeron and Sharna Burgess were on Dancing With the Stars together was in 2018. Sharna was not asked to return for the 28th season of the show. At the time, Burgess was shocked that she wasn’t invited back, considering that she won the 27th season with Bobby Bones. “I certainly wasn’t ready to walk away from it last year. I’ve still got more in me,” the ballroom dancer said. She returned for season 29, but Tom did not. Instead, Bergeron was replaced by Tyra Banks for the most recent DWTS season. Fans of the dance competition reality series were shocked that ABC cut Tom.
On Friday, Tom and Sharna went on a hike in Los Angeles together. They shared numerous moments from their day in the wilderness. Burgess shared a picture of the two of them hiking with masks on. “It was the best thing ever seeing you this morning, So glad we made our hike happen and truly I’VE MISSED YOU!!! Chats, laughs and calorie burning… a combination I want more of,” the pro dancer captioned the picture she shared. Bergeron expressed he has no intentions of returning to Dancing With the Stars. “When people say, ‘I’m not gonna watch until you’re back,’ I say, ‘Well there’s really no ‘until’ here.’ This train has left the station,” Tom said. “I appreciate the sentiment, and I don’t hold it against anybody if they [watch].” The Emmy winner concluded his statement by saying that he may never host another show again and he’s okay with that. “My career path looks like a hostage note cut and pasted from a bunch of different magazines. I regarded myself as a broadcaster and was very fortunate that wonderful opportunities presented themselves,” Tom commented. “There’s no real fire in my gut to do it again. Having said that, I’m always open to surprises.”
It’s wonderful to see Tom and Sharna have kept in touch beyond the Dancing With the Stars show they both worked on. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll see much more of Bergeron since he’s essentially retired. We hope to see Burgess on another season of the dance competition series.
