On Monday, Nelly and Daniella Karagach made it to the finals of the Dancing with the Stars competition. Over the course of DWTS season 29, the pro dancer and rap artist duo brought a lot of energy and passion to the dancefloor, but what are their best performances?

Recently, Daniella and Nelly competed in the DWTS semi-finals. They performed two dances: a Paso Doble to Run Boy Run by Woodkid and a Jive to Jump, Jive an’ Wail by The Brian Setzer Orchestra. They received a 26 for the Paso Doble and a perfect score of 30 for their Jive. These scores are among the highest they've received all season. Throughout the competition, viewers saw Nelly’s dancing skills improve every week and the improvement was reflected in their scores. Nelly said he lost weight as a result of the intense training. Now that Daniella and Nelly are in the finals, let’s take a look back at their performances from the season.

Nelly and Daniella’s first performance was to Ride wit Me from the rap artist’s album, Country Grammar. The dancing duo wore fiery red outfits which complimented their Salsa performance. Despite the impressive tricks and flips they pulled off during the upbeat dance, they received a score of 16. See them in action in the video below:

The next week, Karagach and Nelly danced the Cha Cha Cha to Let’s Groove by Earth, Wind & Fire. The hip hop artist was uneasy on his feet in the beginning, but gained confidence throughout the DWTS performance. For the Disney-themed episode, Nelly and Daniella were inspired by the Pixar movie, Soul. You can clearly see the progression in Nelly’s skills as he was much more confident and sure-footed this time around. They earned a score of 18 a second time in a row for their Foxtrot performance. Even though they scored the same as the previous week, they made it into the top 13. See the dance in the video below:

In week 4, Nelly went back to his roots with a performance of the hip hop song, All I Do Is Win by DJ Khaled. Daniella wore an eye-catching bodysuit with a train and thigh-high boots. Nelly's confidence shined through and they got a score of 21, which was their highest score at that point. The following week, Nelly and Karagach performed a Samba to the iconic song Rhythm of the Night by DeBarge. Both dancers got into the '80s theme with their colorful outfits. In their next performance, they slowed things down with a Viennese Waltz. Nelly and Daniella danced to Humble & Kind by Tim McGraw and received an improved score of 24. For Villains Night, the duo did a Freddy Krueger-inspired performance to Can’t Feel My Face by The Weeknd. They improved their score again with the spooky yet amusing dance.

The following week, the pair had their first score setback, after previously improving week after week. They received a 21 for their Rumba performance to Nobody Knows by The Tony Rich Project. On Icons Night, Nelly and Daniella performed to California Love by Tupac. Nelly shocked fans with a backflip at the beginning of the dance. They received a great score of 24 that night, which got them to the semi-finals. See the Rumba in the video below:

In terms of scoring, Nelly and Daniella’s best performances were the Jive to Jump, Jive an’ Wail, the Argentine Tango to Can’t Feel My Face, and the Paso Doble to Run Boy Run. However, that’s just the judging panel's opinion. Nelly typically performs better when the song is fast-paced and energetic. He's not as strong during the slow and sultry songs. Obviously, his background in hip hop music has really helped Nelly to get into the rhythm of the lively dances. For this reason, his most entertaining performances were the Salsa to Ride wit Me, the Jazz to California Love, and the Paso Doble to All I Do Is Win. Good luck in the Dancing with the Stars finals, Nelly and Daniella!
