Some things never get old, especially when it comes to celebrity beef. Veteran supermodel Naomi Campbell recently appeared to reignite her long-existing feud with Dancing With the Stars host Tyra Banks. The fashion models have a history of back and forths that many fans thought had been settled. However, amid increasing criticism over Tyra's role on DWTS, Naomi found it necessary to throw a little shade her frenemy's way.
Over the summer, it was reported Tyra would replace longtime DWTS hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews. During the first few shows, Tyra's slip-ups and hiccups were called out by fans online. To make matters worse, Tyra made a huge blunder when she announced the wrong two finalists for the bottom two. While many fans have called for Tyra to be fired, the America's Next Top Model creator owned up to her mistakes and credited them to being on "live TV." There were recent rumors that she reportedly banned any members of The Real Housewives franchise from competing on the show. However, Tyra shut down those reports and claimed she's a huge fan of the franchise.
Despite all the backlash she's receiving, Naomi Campbell opted to kick her fellow supermodel while she was down. On Tuesday, Campbell shared an article from The Things titled, “Here’s Why Fans Are Starting To Think Tyra Banks Is The Real Mean Girl, Not Naomi Campbell.” The move left fans in awe over Naomi's seemingly shady reference to their history together. The article she posted touched on Tyra's past hosting position on America's Next Top Model, where she said things that have been deemed controversial by modern standards. The former Victoria's Secret model previously addressed the "insensitivity" she spewed out to her contestants at the time.
However, fans were quick to respond to Naomi's attempt to call out Tyra on social media. “Naomi Campbell is MESSY. Lmfaoooooo!!!!” one user commented, as noted by Page Six. “The tyra vs naomi beef will always have a special place in my heart,” another fan added.
During her time hosting her own talk show, Naomi appeared on The Tyra Banks Show in 2005. where they put their early 90s beef to bed. Tyra shared on the show how she felt bullied by Naomi during the start of her modeling career in addition to the media pitting them against each other. "I’ve started to heal, and I think Naomi has, too,” Tyra said at the time. Well, it looks like Naomi needs more time to heal.
