Johnny Weir wowed Dancing With the Stars judges and viewers with his powerful performance to Amy Winehouse on Icons Night.  The American figure skater pulled out the black mascara for his quickstep rendition to the late singer's song, "Valerie."

Johnny and Nelly's Icons Night dance breaks brought to life the spirit of some late, great talents in music. While Johnny honored Amy Winehouse, Nelly donned a headscarf and holster for his Tupac-inspired Jazz performance to "California Love." Judge Derek Hough noted that "there were a few missed steps," during the rapper's performance. "But it was really good fun," he added. The fashion was on point as the stars honored acts like Madonna, Freddy Mercury, Britney Spears, and Janet Jackson. But, unfortunately, viewers were shocked when Backstreet Boys' AJ McClean was sent home after stumbling during his Viennese Waltz Queen tribute performance to "Somebody to Love."

Ultimately, it was the Olympic figure skater who stole the show for the night. Johnny channeled his inner Winehouse all the way down to the signature beehive wig, thick cat-eye eyeliner, and black mascara. Dancing the quickstep to Winehouse's "Valerie," Weir and his pro partner Britt Stewart thoroughly impressed the judges' panel. Following his performance, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba praised it for being one of the best tributes she has ever seen in her 29 seasons of Dancing With the Stars. Other judges applauded Johnny and Britt for their passionate and breathtaking dance number.

Judge Bruno Tonioli noted how much the late award-winning singer would have loved Johnny's tribute to her. "Amy would love that," said Tonioli while also noting how "unique and groundbreaking" the spotless and precise performance was. Johnny Wier received one of the highest scores of the night after judges issued out straight 10s across the board for an overall score of 30/30. Other noteworthy performances from the night include The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe's Britney Spears tribute – an Argentine tango to "Toxic" with pro partner Artem Chigvintsev. She, too, received a perfect score.

Actress Skai Jackson received a 29/30 with her paso doble to "If," honoring her idol, Janet Jackson. Carrie Anne Inaba praised Skai for her "fierce paso doble." Catfish star Nev Schulman rocked the house with his Elton John jive tribute to the legendary singer's "Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)" with pro partner Jenna Johnson. He received a 27/30. Justina Machado brought the energy for her rumba number to Madonna's "Crazy for You" with pro Sasha Farber. She received 26/30.
