Matthew Scott Montgomery appears in the new series, Demi Lovato: Dancing With The DevilHe is one of Demi's closest friends, and has been with her through it all. As an actor on the Disney Channel with Demi, he's known her from the very beginning of her career. Fans are curious about Matthew's background and what he's up to now after hearing his story in the YouTube series.

Matthew is interviewed in the series about Demi's state of mind before the overdose and in her recovery. He is candid about her friend's concern when she started drinking again in 2018. Along with her other family and friends, Matthew didn't know that Demi was using heroin, crack or any other drugs. He stuck by her after her overdose and during her recovery. Demi is extremely grateful to have him as a friend, and posted on Instagram after her 90 days of rehab about how he and Sirah are her best and most supportive friends.

The 32-year-old actor got his start in the 2010's, when he was cast in a play called Yellow. He won the award for Best Featured Performance In A Play at the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards for his work in the show. Matthew was soon cast in other stage shows, and eventually transitioned to television. He was cast in the Disney Channel pilot Shake It Up, and was a guest star on Austin & Ally and Jessie. Later, he became a series regular on So Random! the spin-off of Sonny With A Chance, which starred Demi Lovato. The 2011 comedy only lasted for one season. Since then, Matthew has mostly focused on creating web content. He currently has a YouTube series called West Hollywood, and frequently conducts interviews on Instagram TV. Matthew has also frequently collaborated with his So Random! costars Damien Haas and Shayne Topp, creators of the Smosh YouTube channel.

Matthew met Demi through Tiffany Thornton, an actress on Sonny With A Chance and So Random! "I love Demi with all my heart and soul," he said in an interview with ClevverTV, "She's like one of my favorite people that I've ever met." Matthew has appeared in four of Demi's music videos: "I Love Me," "Sorry Not Sorry," "Tell Me You Love Me" and "Really Don't Care." The love between the friends runs deep, and they are often photographed together.

Demi's friends and family were a huge part of her recovery from the overdose. She makes it clear that she couldn't have gotten to where she is without them. Matthew and others say in Dancing With The Devil that they never gave up on her, and it shows. Hopefully his and Demi's friendship will last a long lifetime.
