There are a lot of customization options in Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes to cyberware, but the combination of Cyberpunk's Mantis Blades and V's Double Jump completely changes up the way 2077 can be played. While early on in the game players are required to choose between Cyberpunk 2077's terrible driving and simply running around Night City on street level, once the ability to double jump (or super jump, depending on the player's preference) has been unlocked the game's world becomes a lot more traversable.

Players need to raise their Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077 to Level 20 before they can begin to unlock some of the game's best combat and movement customization options. While things like hair, tattoos, and piercings in Cyberpunk can't be changed after the initial character customization screen, thankfully players are given a ton of different options to play Cyberpunk 2077 in whatever way they want. For anyone who is also a fan of games like Mortal Kombat, specifically characters like Baraka who sport massive arm blades and can leap across the screen to slash at their opponents, the combination of V's Double Jump and the Mantis Blades in Cyberpunk 2077 is exactly what they're looking for.

The Mantis Blades in Cyberpunk 2077, as well as the Double Jump ability, must be acquired from one of the game's many ripperdocs. Neither piece of cyberware is cheap (roughly $45,000 for the Double Jump, less for the Mantis Blades) but both are more than worth the cost of entry, especially if players have already spent some time upgrading their Body and Reflex skills. By allocating points to allow for less of a stamina drop when both running and using bladed weapons, as well as making sure fall damage is reduced as much as possible, Cyberpunk 2077 can go from a stealthy infiltration RPG to a free-running murder-filled mayhem simulator.

The level design of Night City is fantastic, offering players plenty of points of entry for dozens of different approach options in nearly every area. However, a lot of these secondary and tertiary paths aren't immediately accessible, or even visible, unless players have to ability to get a little higher. Cyberpunk 2077's Double Jump gives players the ability to instantly get on top of most of the smaller kiosks and buildings, and from there players will quickly realize how much more of the world is accessible to them.

It's not true of every single district in Night City, but many areas offer lots of buildings with varying degrees of steep architecture, interwoven highways, and accessible roofs and ledges. By running, double jumping, and maneuvering through and around them, Cyberpunk players can engage in an experience more akin to Mirror's Edge than Deus Ex, and then, after spotting a gang of wanted criminals on the street corner below, can pop out their Mantis Blades and drop down in a flurry of Tarkatan-esque attacks. There are a lot of different ways to play Cyberpunk 2077, but if anyone is looking to create a free-running bladed warrior who isn't afraid of blood or heights, the Double Jump and Mantis Blades cyberware upgrades are a must-buy.
