Players who purchased the Limited Edition Bundle for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One will not be receiving the game's DLC expansion as promised, but will be receiving reimbursement instead. Cyberpunk 2077 has recently announced an upcoming DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty. Developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion for 2023, but little else is known about what the expansion will potentially include.Cyberpunk 2077 had a troubled release in 2020 - the game's launch date was pushed back several times, players experienced a variety of bugs and glitches, and the performance on last-gen systems such as the PS4 and Xbox One suffered greatly. Two years later, the game has received several updates that have greatly improved its performance and stability, with Patch 1.5 having included improvements to character customization, weapons, gameplay and more. Recently, CD Projekt Red has also released Patch 1.6, the Edgerunners update - unfortunately, however, it has been confirmed that the patch will be Cyberpunk 2077's final last-gen update.Related: Keanu Reeves Returns In Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Phantom LibertyAs noted by Twitter user IdleSloth84, a news post on the Cyberpunk 2077 website confirms that Patch 1.6 will be the final update for last-gen systems - and that the upcoming DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty, will not be releasing on those systems. However, players who have purchased the Limited Edition Bundle for Xbox One X, and were therefore promised the expansion, "will now receive a reimbursement in the form of Microsoft Store credit." The Phantom Liberty expansion, the website notes, is being developed for PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S, and is expected to release in 2023.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Reimburse Players for DLC on Xbox One

Losing out on future updates isn't the first time last-gen players have suffered when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077 - on launch, the game notably suffered from disastrous graphics issues on PS4 and Xbox One. Additionally, although the game's performance has been improved with updates, last-gen systems have also lost out on certain features included in those updates, such as the improved crowd AI and more drastic visual improvements. With the release of Patch 1.6, the only support that Cyberpunk 2077 will be receiving on last-gen systems will be technical support related.

The story of Cyberpunk 2077's development and release has been a troubled one, to say the least. Players on last-gen systems such as the Xbox One and PS4 will certainly be disappointed to be left out of future content, but given the trouble that the game has seemingly had with developing for those platforms, CD Projekt Red may have been faced with limited options, especially if the developer wanted to avoid a Cyberpunk 2077 crunch controversy similar to what occurred at the game's launch. Whatever the case, it's at least reassuring to know that while Cyberpunk 2077 players on Xbox One who were promised the DLC won't be receiving it, they will be reimbursed for their trouble.
