CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will allow players to adjust the size and color of the game’s dialogue subtitles. The highly-anticipated game from the developers of The Witcher series looks like it will feature more interactive and immersive dialogue sequences, unlike other games where entering into a conversation somewhat provides a window of safety from the game’s action.

The number of dialogue sequences that players may encounter in Cyberpunk 2077 are multiplied even further by the game’s Lifepaths feature, which gives players the opportunity to choose between three different backstories to start the game off. The Lifepaths will also affect other parts of the game beyond the first few hours. The interactive dialogue and the Lifepaths feature are just two of the many ways CD Projekt Red is making Cyberpunk 2077 as unique and detailed as possible.

The customization of the game’s subtitles was recently confirmed by the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account when it responded to a fan commenting on how difficult it was to read the subtitles in one of the game’s released screenshots. The developers responded by confirming that players will be able to adjust the color and size of the subtitles to make them more legible or suit the player’s preference. The studio also recently confirmed another detail of the game through a Twitter reply, that the game will feature free DLC similar to The Witcher 3.

CD Projekt Red offering the ability to adjust the game’s dialogue subtitles is a great accessibility feature for those who usually have a hard time reading subtitles and especially for those with disabilities that make it difficult for them to either hear or read the dialogue. Many games have begun to expand their accessibility options to make them more inclusive. The Last of Us Part II was praised for having an extensive list of accessibility features.

If the customizable subtitles are anything to go by, it looks like Cyberpunk 2077 may have its own plethora of accessibility options that will allow a wider range of people to play the game. It would be interesting to hear more from CD Projekt Red regarding the other features it’s implemented into the game to not only give more players the opportunity to experience it but also more ways for people to enjoy it. It would be great to see if Cyberpunk 2077 will be easily playable with Microsoft’s Adaptive Controller, which has seen success since it was released.
