Developers of Cyberpunk 2077 have been hard at work on improving the game, and in a stream this morning, CD Projekt Red showcased the massive 1.5 patch showing off vastly upgraded AI, visuals, and gameplay. After an incredibly troubling development, Cyberpunk 2077 was finally released in December of 2020. Many critics and gamers agreed that the game felt unfinished, which angered fans who anticipated the title.

Before the anticipated launch of Cyberpunk 2077, fans were treated to gameplay trailers and promises of features that ultimately did not make it to the version of the game that first launched. The game's fans and investors felt misled, even resulting in some legal action and the game being pulled from the PlayStation Store for a time. However, Cyberpunk 2077 was still lucrative, managing to sell more than 13 million copies regardless of its troubled launch. The game has managed to be improved with patches since its launch, with Cyberpunk recently receiving mostly positive reviews on the game's Steam page. The most significant update yet looks to bring Cyberpunk 2077 closer to the game fans were hoping for.

A recent stream by CDPR focused on the 1.5 Cyberpunk 2077 patch, which includes upgraded character customization, crowd AI, weapons, gameplay, and many more changes detailed on Cyberpunk's website. These extensive changes showcased in the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen update trailer look to make Night City feel more alive and immersive than ever before. While not every enhancement is available for last-gen systems, the trailer should give fans an idea of what improvements can be expected when re-entering Cyberpunk's new and improved Night City. CDPR is so proud of the 1.5 patch that the developer wants gamers to be able to try the newly patched Cyberpunk 2077 for free. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 users may now download a 5-hour free trial to give the new and improved game a spin.

Last-generation consoles should also see many improvements with the 1.5 patch. Unfortunately, improved crowd AI and dramatic visual updates will be exclusive to newer, more powerful systems. However, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players can still enjoy many of the patches improvements with new weapons, customization, rebalanced gameplay, and the wholly overhauled perk system. Players playing Cyberpunk on next-gen systems can now choose to play the game on Performance or Ray-Tracing mode, with both supporting the game with 4K resolution, though the modes have different frame rates.

CD Projekt Red has been working hard to make Cyberpunk 2077 the game that was promised during the years of hype created during the game's development. It took some time, but Night City is beginning to look more like the revolutionary open-world experience the game's developer wanted to make. With the next-gen update now available to download, players will be able to see for themselves if Cyberpunk 2077 is finally the futuristic open-world RPG fans hoped it would be.
