The latest Cyberpunk 2077 update patch was just released today, fixing a long-standing glitch with the game's rain among other issues. CD Projekt Red's post-modern RPG shooter gained an infamous reputation for bizarre bugs and glitches when it first launched last winter, with the developer slowly and steadily working to bring make Cyberpunk 2077 more stable in the months since.

While some of the bugs and glitches plaguing Cyberpunk 2077 since its early days were serious and game-crashing, others were actually quite humorous. Main protagonist V’s pants would magically disappear while driving through the crime-ridden streets of Night City, Cyberpunk 2077 would duplicate cars, and NPCs would charge into vehicles with superhuman force. One far more mundane glitch would prevent the roads from appearing wet in the rain – at least until today.

Earlier today, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077's Patch 1.31 is now available across all major platforms. As listed on Cyberpunk.net, this latest update fixes the glitch that prevented roads from appearing wet after it rains. Other issues Patch 1.31 addresses include the base version of an upgraded item still appearing in the inventory during quests, V becoming stuck while falling from a motorbike with “The Rock” perk enabled, and a blinding light coming from Tech weapons when they are fired.  There are also fixes for various glitches that take place during certain side missions, as well as problems with the upgrade screen’s UI and enemy stealth detection speed. • Returned missing descriptions for Backpacker, Resist!, Osmosis, and Footloose clothing mods.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue where players couldn't claim in-game Registration Rewards due to the error: "A network error has occurred. Please try again later".

Console-specific

  • [PlayStation] GPU memory optimization.

This is just the latest update patch that CD Projekt Red has released for Cyberpunk 2077, with the previous Patch 1.3 update making perk resets cheaper and clearing up confusion about the two “dolls” that players can select during an important mission in the Clouds nightclub. Indeed, Cyberpunk 2077 has arguably come a long way since its disastrous launch, with the team at CD Projekt Red recruiting modders to help fix the bugs and glitches that remain to this day.

The fixes Cyberpunk 2077’s Patch 1.31 brings are relatively small compared to the drastic updates and massive Day-One patches of the past, but every little bit helps in bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to the heights promised by CD Projekt Red during the game’s nearly decade-long development cycle and intense pre-release hype campaign. Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.31 is now available to download for PC, consoles, and Google Stadia.
