Cyberpunk 2077 players are still enjoying the beauty of the game in photo mode. CD Projekt Red's new RPG has quickly become one of the biggest video game controversies in recent memory. After eight years of desperate anticipation and numerous delays, the game released practically unfinished on PS4 and Xbox One. Players have complained in scores about bugs and glitches plaguing their trip through the dystopian world of Night City. One fan even remade the game's iconic launch trailer to showcase all the absurd issues players are encountering in-game.

And this poor performance isn't just upsetting players. Numerous publications are openly suspecting CD Projekt Red of having deliberately obfuscated the state of the game on last-gen consoles in order to sell to people who didn't know any better. The company's stock prices have taken a huge hit, and public opinion has turned quite solidly against it despite its track record of solid titles like The Witcher 3. Some investors might even sue CD Projekt over the shoddy state of the new game. It was also quite infamously delisted from the PlayStation Store, as Sony, Microsoft, and even CD Projekt itself issue refunds to disappointed fans.

But as much of a mess as this launch has been, fans are still finding fun in Cyberpunk 2077. Several Reddit users have taken to sightseeing, and sharing beautiful screenshots of the game using Photo Mode. TUKOKK, for instance, points out how stunning the game can look even without ray-tracing enabled, using a photo of a busy street lit up with the morning sun. Alc2005 and FBIsecretservice are also enjoying street shots. Some of these Reddit users even take the time to mention that they're well aware of the game's issues; one even feels the need to specify that they're not being sarcastic for praising Cyberpunk's visuals. Edzone96, meanwhile, posted a photo admiring NPC design. These photos are quite striking; looking at them, it's easy to forget how many problems fans are encountering with the actual game.

By all accounts Cyberpunk 2077 does work much better on PC, which seems to be where most if not all of these striking screenshots were taken. The console versions are where most of the glitches congregate, and this has led to some far less footage being recorded of the game. For instance, one user recorded in-game traffic rendered from afar as ugly, low-res sprites floating aimlessly in a circle, a striking contrast to the game's painstaking attention to detail when functioning properly.

CD Projekt Red has sworn up and down that patches are en route for the console versions. That wasn't enough to stop PlayStation from delisting it, which is a decision that CDPR's studio head seems very irked about. It was certainly a surprising decision, though that can be said of just about every piece of news related to this game. Hopefully CDPR isn't lying about the patches, and fans will soon have a functional Cyberpunk 2077 to enjoy. In the meantime, at least fans can enjoy these photos and dream of exploring Night City once it's finally been fixed.
