CD Projekt Red is utilizing its community to help improve the state of Cyberpunk 2077. The developer has hired modders to help fix bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 and also help support the modding scene in a more official capacity, which should hopefully speed up the process of fixing the game. Although CD Projekt Red claims it is content with the satisfactory state of Cyberpunk 2077, the console version of the game is still far from what is expected from an AAA game in 2021.

CD Projekt Red has gotten the game to offer a more stable performance on consoles, but it's still far from perfect. The company had to strip out a lot of details, such as the number of NPCs on screen, to get the game to run at a stable FPS on last-gen platforms. Needless to say, it shows that Cyberpunk 2077  likely would have benefited from a delay prior to its release last year. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red's new hires may be able to help.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been mocked by players for months, but the company still seems determined to make things right. Tyler McVicker posted an image of a Discord message noting that CD Projekt Red has brought in a company known as Yogisoft, comprised of modders in the Cyberpunk 2077 community, to work on the game. The team will be working to fix bugs in the game and also give official modding support to the title, though it's not fully clear what this will look like yet. It's unclear if this team will be working on all platforms or if it'll be limited to the PC version, but it's still a massive addition to the studio nonetheless.

CD Projekt Red is largely seen as a community-driven developer. Although some of the studio's goodwill was lost with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, it's great to see the studio trying to make amends. CD Projekt Red has used the modding community before, in particular for the upcoming remaster of The Witcher 3. Whether or not the studio will continue to leverage talent like this in future titles, such as the multiplayer spin-off to Cyberpunk 2077, remains to be seen.

Either way, bringing in an outside perspective to the studio to help fix current issues will likely help elevate Cyberpunk 2077. As for how these modders will be able to help establish a form of official mod support is unclear, but hopefully CD Projekt Red will give them the money and resources needed to do it justice.
