Cyberpunk 2077 is still four days away from its long-awaited December 10 release date, but leaked screenshots of the game are starting to make their rounds on the internet; now, the in-game map has players hyped for Night City's incredible density. While the game's map was already leaked online in October, the real breadth and scope of Cyberpunk 2077's world remained a mystery until further leaks revealed more details. Be forewarned: there are no plot spoilers in this article, but there is a look at Cyberpunk 2077's in-game map.
The upcoming action RPG developed and published by CD Projekt Red has taken several public spills on its eight-year-long stumble to the finish line, but it still managed to remain the most anticipated title of 2020 (if not of the soon-closing decade). Beset by production delays, leaks, and reports of widespread crunch that can only mark a AAA endeavor of its scope, Cyberpunk 2077 quickly became the gaming industry's worst-kept secret. CD Projekt Red has already taken to Twitter to plead with players who managed to snag an early copy to not release any spoilers or information about the title until after December 10, but unfortunately, the internet rarely listens and never forgets.
A screenshot of the actual map in-game, provided courtesy of GadgetGang, doesn't reveal any spoilers per se, but it does show just how much there is to do in Cyberpunk 2077. The map is huge, as was expected, but what wasn't expected is the sheer density of Night City. The screencap comes from early gameplay, which means that even in the initial chapters of the story, there's already eleven active mission markers, along with a ton of other stuff to do and see.
There may be a running gag about how long it's taking for Cyberpunk 2077 to be released, but from what details have been gleaned so far, it definitely looks like it was worth the wait, just for the absolute wealth of content it promises. The character creation mode doesn't shy away from the details either, and allows players the ability to customize everything about their characters, from their pupil size to their uh... privates size. So while the leaked in-game map doesn't give anything away as far as Cyberpunk 2077's plot, it does reassure players who have been waiting for the title to drop that their patience will be duly rewarded, and then some.
With only a few days left until Cyberpunk 2077's release, it's pretty safe to assume that there won't be any further delays and that the game will be launched on December 10 without issue. Now all that's left to do is open up as much free time as possible afterwards to dedicate to the vast amount of content and goodies that Cyberpunk 2077 will be bringing home.
