Newly surfaced footage from Cyberpunk 2077 reveals that dialog for the male version of V was recorded for all areas of the game, including within the options to romance Judy - something that CD Projekt Red has been quick to explain. Cyberpunk 2077 had quite the release, and not in a good way. It has gone from being one of the most hotly anticipated games of this generation to an embarrassment to its developer, CD Projekt Red. The game was launched riddled with glitches and bugs, matched only by the amount of controversy generated due to misleading marketing and carefully controlled reviews - the result of which has seen a lawsuit be filed against the developers by its investors.

Despite the large list of faults with Cyberpunk 2077, there are positives to come from the game; one of which is the range of characters that inhabit Night City. While Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand was a key part of the marketing before its release, other Cyberpunk 2077 NPCs have become popular additions to the gaming world since its launch. After gamers take on the role of V, they have the option to romance some of these characters. Players are only able to pursue a romantic relationship with certain NPCs however if their version of V fits a specific body condition.

One such character who can be romanced in Cyberpunk 2077 is Judy Alvarez, a braindance technician and member of the Moxes. Players first meet Judy early on in the story and, if players have selected their V to have a female voice as well as a female body, the option to romance Judy becomes available. New dialog was recently discovered however that depicts a male V seducing Judy. Eurogamer got in touch with a representative from CD Projekt Red, enquiring about this “cut content”. As it transpires however, this content was not actually cut from Cyberpunk 2077. Rather, all of the scripted dialog, regardless of gender, was recorded by both the male and female V’s voice actors. CD Projekt Red explains that this was to “avoid missing something by mistake that would require future recordings.” The developer’s representative then went on to say that “Judy was always only a female V romance partner and that was the artistic vision from the start, there was no male romance option cut from the game.”

Cyberpunk 2077 Judy Close Up

Relationships, and the extracurricular activities that they entail, were a hot topic surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 even before the game’s launch in December. In a rather unexpected, and probably unwanted, turn of events, an adult film called Cyberpunk 2077 XXX Parody was released to the world prior to the game's release. Then after launch, a glitch within Cyberpunk 2077 left V showing off a little bit more than CD Projekt Red initially intended, as their privates could be seen clipping through items of clothing.

CD Projekt Red is now working on righting the wrongs within Cyberpunk 2077. The developers have promised that they will improve the quality of the game swiftly for their players. Sadly however, these promises do not appear to have installed much faith in fans, as gamer numbers have dropped by 79% on Steam already. It's fair to say that the developers certainly have an uphill battle on their hands.
