For the latter portion of Cyberpunk 2077, V is stuck with Johnny Silverhand in their head, and it may seem as though he is seeping through every corner of their life - but there are actually quite a few interactions with the infamous rocker boy that can go unnoticed. These priceless moments are ones that even the most experienced players may have missed out on in their own playthroughs, but ones that Silverhand fans will assuredly want to know about. From witty comments and conversations to unexpected yet meaningful appearances, these interactions develop Johnny's story even further through immersive storytelling.

In the dystopian world of Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand's backstory is controversial, to say the least - and his intrusive, borderline parasitic role in V's life does nothing but further that narrative. Only some players come to like Silverhand, whereas the rest remain understandably hesitant. However, regardless of how a player feels towards him, they can benefit from these rare interactions in their own gameplay. Each of these moments reveals small, but telling details about his character that can either confirm existing opinions about the man - or change perspectives entirely.

V Can Ride A Rollercoaster With Johnny Silverhand In Cyberpunk 2077

Johnny Silverhand riding a roller coaster with the player in Cyberpunk 2077.

When considering Johnny's past actions, he's generally the furthest thing from lighthearted - but in this secret interaction, him and the player can share a moment that is uncharacteristically carefree. Pacifica, although it's the territory of one of Cyberpunk 2077's most dangerous gangs, it's also home to an amusement park that contains a massive roller coaster. A quick scan shows that it's unusable to a lack of maintenance, but if players fix a nearby fuse box, they can restore it to working order and actually ride the coaster for themselves. As seen in this Reddit post by user woahpaolo, Johnny will accompany them, poking fun at V along the way.

Cyberpunk 2077's Johnny Silverhand Shows V The Middle Finger

In a moment a bit more in line with his overall personality, Silverhand can make a particularly offensive gesture toward V - and players even have the opportunity to repay the favor. This hilarious interaction, highlighted by Hippo Reddy on YouTube, is especially easy to miss, as it will only be triggered under the right circumstances. In order to see it for themselves, players must complete the "Losing My Religion" side quest before undertaking "The Heist" with Cyberpunk 2077's formerly unlikeable Jackie Welles. Only then will they get to see Johnny flip the bird - and finally get the chance to flip the bird at Johnny - in this sarcastic exchange.

A Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Is Dramatically Narrated By Johnny Silverhand

Apart from blowing up Arasaka Tower in Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand's resumé also includes experience as a narrator - or so it would seem, according to this side quest uploaded to YouTube by Video Game Sophistry. In the Coyote Cojo bar in Heywood, players can come across two Valentino members threatening to beat up a corpo. If V decides to save him, the bartender, Pepe Najarro, will offer a free drink and open up about some behind-the-scenes marital issues. He will ask V to tail his wife and discover the truth behind her infidelity, but along the way, players will receive no shortage of cheesy, over-the-top narration from Johnny that sounds almost too sincere.

Johnny Silverhand Plays The Guitar In Cyberpunk 2077's Dev Room

Surprisingly, Johnny Silverhand can rarely be seen playing the guitar throughout the game - but getting into the dev room in Cyberpunk 2077 solves this problem with Samurai's poster boy. In this hidden location only accessible by a code, players will not only get to see the faces behind the game (to which Johnny will make a comment that borderline breaks the fourth wall), but they will also get to hear Night City's notorious rock star in action. His lineup of songs includes Samurai's own "Chippin' In", "PonPon Sh*t" by beloved laser-pop group Us Cracks, and even "The Beast Of Beauclair" from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Cyberpunk 2077's Johnny Silverhand Describes Samurai's First Gig

cyberpunk 2077 samurai reunion

By 2077, the music scene in Night City has shifted from the grungy rock of Silverhand's days to intense pop music. However, when in the Cherry Blossom Market of Japantown, V can run into one of the city's last remaining acoustic musicians on the street. This will spark a trip down memory lane on Johnny's part (similar to Cyberpunk 2077's best quest, Samurai's reunion), and he'll ask the player to retrieve a bootleg recording of a Samurai performance. Upon arriving at the Rainbow Cadenza, they'll discover that the old venue has been turned into a ramen restaurant, and they'll have to turn to a nearby vintage music vendor, Karim Noel.

Karim is hesitant to sell the Samurai recording to V, as he doesn't believe they are a true fan of the band. To prove their loyalty, the player must answer a series of questions regarding Samurai's legacy. Luckily, Johnny decides to step in with some valuable information, which secures the vinyl for V - but also reveals some unexpected lore. According to Silverhand, the band's first gig (quite literally) went down in a blaze of glory and started a fire in Rainbow Cadenza. Karim believes that it was Johnny's fault, but Silverhand reveals in a snide remark that the perpetrator was actually Kerry Eurodyne, a romance interest in Cyberpunk 2077.

V Sees Johnny Silverhand In The Mirror In Cyberpunk 2077

Johnny Silverhand in the mirror instead of V in Cyberpunk 2077.

Over the course of Cyberpunk 2077, V can slowly start to adopt the mannerisms of Johnny Silverhand, but this rare moment uploaded by sandmankilla0311 on Reddit shows that he is taking over their mind faster than they may think. It's unknown exactly what triggers this event, but on occasion, the player may see Johnny instead of V in the mirror. Although neither of the characters make a comment on this, it provides players with a stark, unexpected glimpse into the protagonist's future, and shows that the change is already well underway - though V and Silverhand might not fully realize it.

Johnny Silverhand is inarguably a large part of Cyberpunk 2077 - but his story extends past just the main quest line. His character is woven into the heart of Night City through side missions, secrets, and more. With a destructive past, a chaotic function in V's life, and a compelling, yet nonetheless callous personality, Johnny Silverhand definitely isn't everybody's cup of tea - but these interactions show a side to him that many players probably missed in Cyberpunk 2077.
