At long last, V's best choom Jackie Welles has a drink named after him at the Afterlife club in Cyberpunk 2077. This long-awaited addition to the open-world RPG entered the mix via Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5, a game-changing update that introduced next-gen features and so much more. And it's clear developer CD Projekt Red has additional plans to further expand upon the experience as time goes on.

Players meet Jackie Welles early in Cyberpunk 2077. Depending on the life path users choose for the protagonist V, Jackie either counts as an old friend or someone with whom V gets close to very quickly. Either way, the story establishes Jackie as an integral figure in the main plot and beyond. One instance, in particular, sees the two characters meet up at the Afterlife, a club that honors its most loyal patrons by naming a drink after them when they die. Since Jackie's drink of choice in Cyberpunk 2077 is essentially the real-life Moscow Mule, players hoped the character would receive an honorary beverage of his own at Afterlife's bar. Unfortunately, for the longest time, V couldn't order a Jackie Welles following the events of a certain story beat.

CD Projekt Red finally honored Jackie at the Afterlife club in Cyberpunk 2077's latest patch, Update 1.5. As noted by Reddit user HereToTalkAbtWrassin, the bar now has a full stock of Jackie Welles beverages that V can purchase for 150 eddies a pop. Better still, the item description even quotes Jackie's line about his preferred drink: "A shot of vodka, lime juice, ginger beer, and, most importantly... a splash of love." As with all alcoholic beverages, players should anticipate a couple of drawbacks when consuming the Jackie Welles. The drink reduces movements speed by 10 percent and drops weapon accuracy by 50 percent, according to the description.

Honoring fan-favorite Cyberpunk 2077 character Jackie Welles in such a way has been a long time coming. But it seems fitting that CD Projekt Red added the in-game drink for the title's most important patch to date. Given Jackie's background and other subtle hints about his lingering influence on the game world, here's to hoping the studio finds another way of further exploring this particular character.

In addition to new graphics mode and ray tracing boosts, Cyberpunk 2077's 1.5 update introduced a host of content-related extras, as well. V now has more apartments to access in Night City, for example. CD Projekt Red developed a hairdressing mirror, too, along with extra weapons, gameplay improvements, and reworked systems for the loot and economy. And the team is already investigating additional changes, one of which includes the much-requested ability to transfer Cyberpunk 2077 Trophy data between the PS4 and PS5 versions.
