New consoles come along with a setting in Cyberpunk 2077 that can drastically change how the game runs. This guide will help players improve visuals on the Xbox Series X/S version of the game. The newest generation of consoles is finally here (for those lucky enough to get one from scalpers and bots) and the changes are very noticeable with a game like Cyberpunk 2077. The game released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a nearly unplayable state. The game is riddled with glitches, bugs, lack of textures, and long load times when compared to the newest gen and the PC version. While the new consoles don't run perfectly either since the game has been poorly optimized, there is a way to make the game look better. This guide will show how to improve visuals for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X/S

The Xbox Series X is the most powerful home console out there. Outside of building your own gaming PC, this is the best way to experience tons of third party titles and get the most out of the power of the system. Microsoft also released the Xbox Series S, a less-powerful, digital version of the console for a lower price. This is a bit better than an Xbox One in terms of power but falls short when compared to the Xbox Series X. Those playing on one of these next-generation consoles will want to mess with this setting in Cyberpunk 2077 to improve the visuals of the game.

How To Improve Visuals on The Xbox Series X/S Version of Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox Series X

While the PC version of the game allows players to toggle tons of graphical and performance options, the Xbox Series X/S version is all boiled down to a single setting. This is exclusive to the next-gen version of the game only. From the main menu of Cyberpunk 2077, head into the settings option. Head over to the video tab and there will be two options for the Frame Rate Mode.

  • Performance Mode: Better frame rate, worse visuals.
  • Quality Mode: Better visuals, worse frame rate.

While it is subjective what players will want to prefer, the Quality Mode does make the game look a bit better when compared to Performance Mode. Although, if the frame drops become too aggressive, players can always just switch to Performance Mode. Cyberpunk 2077 still has plenty of work to do to improve the game overall. Large patches for the game are scheduled for early 2021 that will hopefully fix all the glaring issues plaguing the experience. It may be the game it deserves to be after a bit more work.
