One Cyberpunk 2077 player has discovered an amusing Harry Potter Easter egg hidden within the streets of Night City. While Cyberpunk 2077 is most famous for its disastrous launch, players are still enjoying exploring the vast world of Night City and discovering its many secrets. Sometimes these discoveries can lead to more insight into the characters within Cyberpunk 2077, such as a recently surfaced piece of graffiti about Jackie Welles, while others are just fun little inclusions from CD Projekt Red.

CD Projekt Red, despite a considerable uphill battle, has been working hard to get Cyberpunk 2077 up to the standard that gamers had expected prior to launch. Unfortunately for the developers, this has been no small task. Along with the multitude of fixes required for the game, the company was also the victim of a high-profile cyberattack in February. The result of this hack saw codes for The Witcher 3 and Gwent sold at an online auction. Then followed a knock-on delay in Cyberpunk 2077 fixes, which caused further annoyances among Cyberpunk 2077 owners. However, despite this delay, a recent patch for Cyberpunk 2077 did seek to fix over 500 problems. These included sorting the in-game driving mechanics and changing the bizarre way that protagonist V slept, which looked anything but comfortable. Another patch was made available today which should fix even more of the game’s remaining issues.

But bugs, patches, and glitches aside, Cyberpunk 2077 has always offered players a vast open world to explore. And within that world there is a lot to discover, including a fun nod towards The Boy Who Lived. Reddit user thesailorscout shared a screenshot from their own gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077, which showed off an unmistakable Harry Potter Easter egg within Night City. Graffiti splashed across the side of a wall reads “Platform 69 ¾” with further script encouraging the player to “Hit here” with two skeletal hands pointing down and inwards. This is a clear (if somewhat suggestive) reference to Platform 9¾ in the Harry Potter books, a portal that acts as a gateway between the muggle world and the boarding platform for the Hogwarts Express.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not the only recent release to have a hidden Harry Potter Easter egg included within the gameplay. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features a whole Harry Potter themed room in Lunden (the old name for London). Here, players can find references to Voldermort’s seven horcruxes, as well as banners representing each of the Hogwarts houses.

Hopefully in time the developers involved with Cyberpunk 2077 will get the game to a point where it will be playable for all platform users (and perhaps become available on the PlayStation store once more). Even with its many issues, there is still a lot to love about Cyberpunk 2077, such as the many fun little Easter eggs waiting to be found. It is a great shame that the game was released in such a poor state, as it holds so much promise that many are sadly still unable to realize.
