One Cyberpunk 2077 fan is showing off an impressive cosplay of Evelyn Parker in time for Halloween. A former member of the Mox gang and a Doll (or sex worker) working for the posh Clouds nightclub in the gritty post-modern world of Night City, Evelyn is only onscreen for a relatively short time in Cyberpunk 2077, but she still serves a major and memorable role in the game's story.
Players are first introduced to Evelyn Parker during Cyberpunk 2077’s early hours, where she provides protagonist V and their partner Jackie Welles with a Braindance of a recent meeting with corporate leader Yorinobu Arasaka - one that includes some vital information for the pair’s planned heist of a valuable bio-chip from his estate. This would lead her to an incredibly dark and tragic end once the aforementioned heist goes sideways, as the Voodoo Boys would soon attack the Braindance club Evelyn was hiding in with a virus, corrupting her cyberware and leaving her dazed and disoriented for several days. In this vulnerable state, Evelyn is sold off to the Scavengers, who force her to participate in several twisted Braindances. V and Judy Alvarez would eventually rescue her in one of Cyberpunk 2077's many side quests, but the trauma from this nightmare situation proves too much, and Evelyn eventually takes her own life. Despite her tragic story arc, Evelyn remains a fairly popular character in Cyberpunk 2077 for her stylish look, and some players find themselves wishing she had more screen time and character development before her eventual fate.
Earlier this week, Reddit user cyxaricus posted several pictures of herself cosplaying as Evelyn Parker to r/cyberpunkgame, showing off Evelyn's signature blue hair, shiny gold dress, and black leather jacket. These images were taken by Instagram photographer Kira and feature cyxaricus hanging around the dark, neon-light streets of Night City, smoking a cigarette, and looking mysterious as the morally ambiguous Doll and source of secret information from Cyberpunk 2077’s opening missions.
The futuristic setting and characters of Cyberpunk 2077 lend themselves well to cosplay, with developer CD Projekt Red even hosting a special costume contest for fans back in 2019 that culminated with a $40,000 prize. Later on, one Cyberpunk 2077 fan faithfully recreated V's signature Samurai jacket and even months after the game's infamous release last December players are still showing off impressive outfits and fan-made weapons like a Cyber Katana replica or a 3D-printed "Skippy" gun.
CD Projekt Red's long-troubled RPG might not have taken the gaming world by storm as the developer had hoped, but it still created several memorable characters in the gritty world of Night City, so much so that fans are still dressing up like them a year later. Cyxaricus’s spot-on impression of Evelyn Parker is one such example, skillfully capturing the style and mystery surrounding the character during her early appearances in Cyberpunk 2077.
