Many of the near-countless items scattered throughout Cyberpunk 2077 have strange names that players aren't likely to recognize unless they've already been through the game to pick up all the slang of Night City. With a setting so different from reality, the worldbuilding can feel jarring when players are thrust into conversations involving terms they've never heard before. The immersive approach to roleplaying in Cyberpunk 2077 also means that explanations can be difficult to find. It can take some digging - or a thorough examination of context clues - to figure out what words like "'dorph" and "corpo" are supposed to correlate to within the game.

Two years following its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has started to regain some excitement. The release of a Netflix show inspired by the series, a new DLC, and, more recently, a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel confirmed by CDPR have all helped to draw new players into the world of the game. Without glitches to hinder the experience, newcomers and returning Cyberpunk 2077 fans alike are able to experience the full depth of Night City and all of its well-received characters.

In the process, they might have a little catching up to do when it comes to slang, though. Cyberpunk 2077's unique language can be difficult to keep track of when first starting out. One term that players are likely to run into, especially as they collect and purchase items, is "'dorph."

Cyberpunk 2077: Dorph Definition & What Dorph Does

Medics in Cyberpunk 2077 attempt to revive a prone NPC.

Short for endorphins, 'dorph is recreational and synthetic, taken by netrunners - the equivalent of computer hackers in Cyberpunk 2077 - to improve performance. Players who unlock netrunner class perks in Cyberpunk 2077 will probably hear the slang word tossed around frequently as a result. It's also used in combat as a painkiller or more frequently as a stress reliever. Many other drugs, some of which can be consumed by V in Cyberpunk 2077, offer similar effects. The harder-to-obtain Black Lace is one such example.

Those are just a couple of the consumables to be found throughout Night City, though. Cyberpunk 2077 is expansive in its world-building, and it could take players multiple playthroughs to explore everything the game has to offer. More so if they want to try out all of Cyberpunk 2077's balanced and specialized character builds. Even those who don't want to dive into the lore of the world too deeply should still have plenty to explore.
