A modder has given Cyberpunk 2077 a visual makeover, thanks to a DOOM reshade mod that makes CD Projekt RED's latest look as though it belongs in a different era. Since launch, the modding community on PC has been hard at work refining the sci-fi RPG in myriad ways.

Some mods have gone as far as to adjust vehicle handling in Cyberpunk 2077, making the floaty mechanics feel much smoother and a bit heftier. Mods for menu changes have gone live as well, giving players a chance to reduce the cumbersome nature of in-game settings. Last week, one mod, in particular, made the rounds as it allowed players to experience the game from a third-person perspective in its entirety. Yet, another mod gained popularity due to the incorporation of hairstyle changes, a feature that oddly isn't available in the base game. Not all modders are making fixes and adding in surprisingly absent content, however. There exists a fair few cosmetic mods that are also worth a quick look.

A modder named Fionn on Nexus Mods has essentially taken Cyberpunk 2077 to another level, with a DOOM reshade mod that drastically alters the former's visual style. Simply put, it's a sight to behold. The screenshots featured on Nexus Mods probably don't do the cosmetic mod justice, though. According to Fionn, PC players who want to give it a try can download Reshade, install it, copy everything to the Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64 folder, then "use the home key to enable the Reshade menu." Hitting the "Page Up" prompt will allow players to enable or disable the Reshade option.

Most certainly, this DOOM reshade can be added to the list of neat community-made additions, right alongside Cyberpunk 2077's Handsome Squidward mod. Still, players wonder when CD Projekt RED will have a chance to release some of the more functional fixes in an update for all players. Better vehicle handling and the ability to change V's hairstyle are additions that everyone will hopefully get to take advantage of sometime down the line.

Admittedly, such updates could take a while to come to fruition. For the time being, it seems the studio will place much of its focus on optimizing the game across the board, but especially for console users. Barring the day one patch, two big updates have gone live since release. And two much larger patches are scheduled for January and February.
