Now that Cyberpunk 2077 has finally arrived for fans around the world, and many are now trying to determine the best ways to build their characters. The number of choices that players have for their individual character's creation are astounding and range from cosmetic to gameplay oriented. One of the most important choices that players are given though is to pick what class they wish to play as.

Once players choose a class they want to focus on they will then need to decide exactly which of the different perks they want their character to have. Perks will grant players with assorted abilities in combat or passive mechanics that can alter the ways that they interact with the world around them. This guide shows players which early perks to pick for the Techie class.

Some may make the argument that Techie isn't really a true class like Netrunner and Solo, but rather just an extra set of perks for the other two classes to pull from. While this may hold a little bit of weight, clever players will be able to pull a wide array of skills from the Techie class and make themselves a force to be reckoned with. Techies focus specifically on crafting and creating modifications.

While players have the option to find or purchase weapons and armor throughout the world, this isn't always the most effective way to obtain gear in Cyberpunk 2077. As a Techie players will be able to use resources to craft new gear for themselves and be more efficient at eliminating any enemies that they face off against. Techies also have the option of pulling a few perks from either Solo or Netrunner to make themselves either a combat or hacking focused engineer.

Most of the perks for Techies will be within the engineering and crafting tabs, and the majority of them will be centered around crafting or acquiring resources. A few though are combat-oriented or will give players other effective skills.

  • Innovation - By picking up this skill players will be able to make all consumable items 25% more effective when used. This is a good idea to pick it up as soon as it is possible.
  • Scrapper - This perk automatically disassembles all junk items, which stops the player from having to sort through their inventory to do it themselves. Basically ensures that all junk is immediately converted into its base resources.
  • Mechanic - Once this has been acquired the player will receive more components every time that they disassemble something. Pairing this up with Scrapper can ensure that the player is able to obtain a massive amount of resources.
  • Edgerunner Artisan - When this perk has been acquired players are then able to craft legendary items, which are some of the best things to craft in the game.
  • Bladerunner - This is the final early perk for players to pick up, and one of the few Techie skills based around combat. With this perk in their possession players will be able to deal increased damage against mechanical enemies.
