The CW sets premiere dates for The 100, iZombie, the final season of The Originals, and new series Life Sentence - plus some finale dates. As a network, The CW has made a name for itself with its superhero offerings. Since launching Arrow in 2012, the network has grown its 'Arrowverse' to include The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and CBS-transplant Supergirl. Soon, their superhero lineup will add one more with the series premiere of Black Lightning in a few weeks. Beyond superheroes, The CW is also home to an adaptation of Vertigo's iZombie and Archie Comics characters with Riverdale.

But The CW isn't only known for superheroes and comic book adaptations; the network has also had a great deal of success with its other genre fare, including the critically acclaimed series Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the now completed Vampire Diaries and its spinoff The Originals, as well as post-apocalyptic drama The 100, which is a loose adaptation of Kass Morgan's YA novel of the same name. Now, The CW has announced return dates for some of their more popular genre fare, as well as a premiere date for the network's newest drama.

In conjunction with their presentation day at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, The CW announced iZombie will return for season 4 next month, Monday February 26 at 9pm, where it will follow Legends of Tomorrow. On Wednesday March 7, Life Sentence will debut at 9pm following Riverdale. Dynasty, which previously occupied the time slot, will move to Fridays at 8pm - presumably after the current season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has wrapped.

The 100 season 5 kicks off Tuesday April 24 at 9pm, taking over for Black Lightning, which wraps up its first season on April 17. Lastly, the final season of The Originals kicks off Friday April 20 at 9pm, one week after Jane the Virgin wraps up its fourth season. In terms of trailers, it's likely we'll see one for iZombie season 4 soon enough, but a trailer for The 100 season 5 won't arrive until much closer to the show's April return date.

As is the case in many years, the spring schedule for The CW is a bit more hectic than its fall lineup since the network makes a number of shifts - such as moving Dynasty to Friday - as new shows arrive. Perhaps the biggest shakeup this year, though, was previously announced. To make room for Black Lightning (and give it the best chance of success by using the network's highest rated show, The Flash, as a lead in), The CW moved Legends of Tomorrow to Mondays at 8pm, where it will share the timeslot with Supergirl. The move inspired fans to petition against the Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl timeslot change, but it appears The CW is sticking to it.

Certainly, considering its packed lineup of shows this season, The CW had to make room for Black Lightning and iZombie somewhere in the schedule. However, as seasons come to an end in the spring, they'll make way for the return of The 100 and the premiere of Life Sentence. Plus, with The Originals finishing up its run with a final season, that will be one more spot for a new or returning series next season. Looking at how packed The CW's schedule is, perhaps it's a good thing the Riverdale companion series, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, wound up on Netflix. Still, for those awaiting the returns of iZombie and The 100, now at least the series have premiere dates.
