The CW releases a San Diego Comic-Con 2018 trailer for its lineup of DC TV shows, including the Arrowverse - Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow - as well as Black Lightning, that welcomes Batwoman and Gotham to the network. Each of The CW's established superhero series will hold panels throughout the Saturday of this year's San Diego Comic-Con, where they'll no doubt tease their respective upcoming seasons.
It was revealed earlier this year that Kate Kane aka. Batwoman will be joining the Arrowverse in this year's multi-show crossover - which, unfortunately, won't include Legends of Tomorrow. More recently, it was announced that The CW's Arrowverse architect Greg Berlanti is developing a Batwoman TV show that will undoubtedly be spun off from the character's introduction later this year in the crossover. Now, in an effort to build buzz for their extensive lineup of superhero series during this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, The CW has released a new promo.

The CW unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming seasons of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning using footage from the show's previous outings. Toward the end of the video, the promo teases Batwoman and Gotham City's official arrival in the multiverse in which the network's DC TV series are set. Watch the trailer above. The teaser reveals "A new hero will rise" when the Arrowverse crossover event kicks off in December 2018.
As of now, the crossover is only expected to include characters from Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl, with the titular superheroes of each show likely set to meet Kate Kane. Meanwhile, the Legends of Tomorrow will be sitting this one out as they travel through time and space fixing history - this season with the help of John Constantine (Matt Ryan). As for Black Lightning, though season 1 of The CW's latest superhero offering referenced certain DC heroes who exist in the Arrowverse, it hasn't yet officially been connected to the other shows' continuity. So, Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) and his family of superheroes aren't expected to join the crossover either.
Of course, Batwoman's introduction to the Arrowverse is enough to make this year's crossover a very highly anticipated event. The various DC TV shows on The CW have made mention of Gotham City, Batman and Bruce Wayne over the years, but introducing a member of the Bat-family will finally make that corner of the Arrowverse more than Easter egg fodder. And, with Batwoman getting her own TV show on The CW, there will be plenty more Gotham City adventures in the coming years. But first, fans are curious to see who will be cast in the role of Kate Kane. The CW is reportedly looking for an openly gay actress to play Batwoman, which should indicate to fans that the network will be staying true to the comic book character.
Now, with Comic-Con in full swing, we may learn more about Batwoman's upcoming introduction and the Arrowverse crossover during the various shows' panels. Perhaps we'll even find out who will be playing Batwoman. Stay tuned to Screen Rant for more coverage of The CW's DC TV shows at Comic-Con 2018.
