The Pokémon world is full of exotic creatures, each one more fascinating than the one before. Pokémon come in all shapes and sizes, and looks can be deceitful. Indeed, multiple Pokémon might seem like a big deal but end up disappointing, while others might hide great strength underneath an average face.

Similarly, some Pokémon might seem cute and harmless, with their pastel-colored skin and big eyes, but actually, be savage and even dangerous. Trainers might have no problem taming these Pokémon over time, but that doesn't mean that these Pokémon are any less hazardous.

Pancham

A Pancham wearing red shades roaring in the Pokémon anime

Its arms are strong enough to smash telephone poles, and it enjoys going wild without caring about the damage it or its Trainer might suffer. Pancham might not be terrifying by itself, but considering what it will evolve into, Trainers might want to think twice before catching it.

Therein lies the danger because every Pokémon fan knows that Pangoro is a ferocious beast of pure rage. Its arms are strong enough to smash telephone poles, and it enjoys getting violent without caring about the damage it or its Trainer might suffer. Pancham might not be terrifying by itself, but considering what it will evolve into, Trainers might want to think twice before catching it.

Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff using a marker as a microphone and singing in the Pokémon anime

Jigglypuff is one of those Pokémon that even non-fans of the franchise know. A bonafide icon, Jigglypuff is the very definition of the word "cute," thanks to its round shape, pale pink color, and massive bright eyes. Anyone would fall in love with a Jigglypuff at first sight.

However, this pink balloon is more vicious than anyone imagines. Its enormous eyes can put anyone, human or Pokémon, into a trance, while its soothing voice has the power to cause sleep. The Pokémon anime also showed how grudgeful Jigglypuff could be, and in the wrong Trainer's hand, Jigglypuff can be deadly.

Espurr

An Espurr looking up in the Pokémon anime

Another Gen VI Pokémon, Espurr, is a Psychic-type creature that resembles a cat. It has a somewhat sad aura surrounding it, an air of mystery that adds to its overall enigmatic presence. Its oval, glowing eyes and perpetually bewildered expression make it adorable, as if it needed protection against the entire world.

Espurr may seem cute at first sight, but it is one of the most unstable Pokémon in the franchise. It has no control over its massive psychic powers and can release intense blasts, powerful enough to knock down a wrestler. Its expression never changes because all of Espurr's energy goes to his efforts to contain his mighty power.

Mawile

A Mawile opens a door and steps into a room in the Pokémon anime

Mawile is indeed pretty, thanks to its innocent-looking face and tiny, kimono-like body. However, no player actually used it because it was a rather underwhelming addition to the franchise. However, the Fairy-type and a well-designed Mega Evolution made it a great Pokémon.

Trainers shouldn't be fooled by Mawile's cute looks, though. The Pokédex states that Mawile is cunning and treacherous, using its innocent looks to lure unsuspecting prey before swallowing them whole. Things worsen when Mawile Mega Evolves; it acquires two jaws and uses them to tear its foes apart.

Drifloon

Three Drifloon floating side by side in the Pokémon anime

Most fans don't like Pokémon based on everyday or household items. They resent the lack of creativity and actively reject them. However, there's something charming about Drifloon's design. It is basically a sentient balloon with two strings that resemble skinny legs and a patch on its body that looks like an enlarged nose. Looking at it, some might even think it is somewhat endearing. It isn't.

Drifloon will wander around the world, seeking some company. It particularly enjoys children and casually steals those that confuse it for a balloon. Drifloon carries these children to unknown locations, although some claim it takes them to the afterlife; however, it dislikes heavy children. Drifloon's body contains countless wandering souls; if its body bursts for any reason, the souls escape, screaming in despair.

Shuppet

A Shuppet floating in the Pokémon anime

At first sight, Shuppet looks like a sentient cloth. Its large eyes are its most prominent feature, although it occasionally sticks out its pink tongue, exacerbating its cuteness.

However, that cuteness is only superficial. The horn atop its head collects negative emotions from people, including envy, anger, and jealousy; Shuppet then feeds off those sentiments. If that wasn't creepy enough, Shuppet evolves into one of the scariest-looking Pokémon ever, Bannette, a discarded doll brought to life by pure hatred.

Phantump

A group of Phantump floating in a forest in the Pokémon anime

Phantump is, quite literally, a living tree stump. Like most cute Pokémon, it has enormous eyes and a tiny mouth, resulting in an adorable face that's impossible to resist. Its ghostly body only adds to its overall charm, making it one of the cutest Ghost-Pokémon in the franchise.

Things go sour when Phantump's origin comes into the picture. In short, Phantump is the spirit of a child who got lost in the woods, died, and then possessed a tree stump. In fact, its cry sounds like the wailing of a child. Phantump will often lure other children into the forest, attempting to make new friends. The children usually die, though, and thus a new Phantump is born.

Mimikyu

Mimikyu on the ground in the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime

Pikachu is the most iconic Pokémon of them all. The franchise keeps coming up with clones of it, but none is more precious than poor Mimikyu. Introduced in Generation VII, Mimikyu is a Pokémon said to be so ugly that people will die after seeing it. Wanting to escape the loneliness of its existence, it disguises itself with a raggedy and endearing Pikachu costume and seeks new friends.

Things don't work out because its disguise fools no one. Trainers and other Pokémon will inevitably try to remove the costume and see Mimikyu's proper form. However, it will react and attack viciously, perpetuating its reputation as the creepiest of Pokémon.

Litwick

A group of Litwick in Pokémon

Litwick looks like a character taken out of a Disney movie. A candle with one large eye and a tiny mouth that seems to be perpetually smiling, Litwick takes cuteness to a whole other level. Its short body and stubby arms only make it lovelier, and many Trainers are so enchanted that they follow it around, thinking they're playing with it.

Big mistake. Big. Huge. Litwick is, in fact feeding off their energy force, stealing their lives away. That's right, Litwick is literally killing other people and Pokémon and leading them to the Ghost World. Litwick may be one of the cutest Ghost-type Pokémon, but Trainers shouldn't fall for its charms, or they'll pay the ultimate prize, literally.

Bewear

Bewear rescues Team Rocket in Pokémon

Looking at Bewear, most Trainers would fall in love instantly. The pink and black bear is cuteness brought to life. Its round paws, chunky body, and ridiculously adorable face make it look like a giant teddy bear come to life. And who doesn't love a teddy bear?

Indeed, many Trainers fall for its charms and attempt to hug it without realizing Bewear is arguably the most dangerous Pokémon in Alola. Its hugs are strong enough to break bones, and the Pokédex even states that many Trainers "left this world after their spines were squashed by its hug." The Pokémon Sun & Moon anime features an unforgettable Bewear, obsessed with Team Rocket. Indeed, its hugs were so passionate that Jessie, James, and Meowth were often fighting for their lives.
